Cup of Coffee 6/4 (Early Edition)

Good morning, today I'm going to focus on catchers.  If you're still waiting on Kenji Johjima, Ivan Rodriguez, or Victor Martinez to wake up this season, here's a few catchers to look at:

Jerrod Saltalamacchia: The bat is starting to pick up, in his last 6 games hes got 2HR, 7RBI, and he's gone 10-for-24.  He will hit between .280 and .300 and could knock 15-20HR.  Don't hang on to a Kenji Johjima or Ivan Rodriguez if Salty is available in your league.

Rod Barajas: Greg Zaun has been placed on the DL, so Barajas will carry most of the load.  In 2005 he hit 21HR, he hasn't gotten back to that number because he hasn't gotten enough playing time.  This year he's getting more PT and is doing alot with it.  .303 AVG 5 HR 19 RBI.  I don't think the average will stay up, but he could be on track to easily hit 15 HR which at this point will top all 3 of those names I mentioned at the beginning of this blog.

Yadier Molina: His average has been hovering around .300 all year long.  He has a decent number of RBI (23), and gives you a little pop (3HR so far this year).  Not the best pickup, but you'd love these numbers if you own Pudge or even Victor.

To the other half of the battery:

Scott Baker:  Makes his return from the DL against Baltimore tomorrow.  I've been singing his praises all year.  I think he has a good game here.  Might only go 5 innings, but look for 5K's, 5-6 baserunners, and 1ER.

That's all for today, have a great night of fantasy baseball!
