What a great feeling it is to know that your team is in first place of your division and in your league. Anyone remember what that feeling was like? Probably not since it hasn't happened for a long, long, long time. Even with the early troubles of Soriano I am willing to forgive hime as long as Lou Pinella continues to substitute him in the late innings for defense. I have come to terms that he is a streaky hitter. My hope is that there will be more good days than bad.
The team will have to find another stater for the post season. As much as they have been getting by with the less than quality starts, this will eventually catch up to them. In the mean time I would love for this pace to continue and the cardinals continue to slide back down to the tail end of the pack.
Who could be a viable option in a trade for the cubs come the trading deadline? Could we maybe see a deal with the orioles where daniel cabrera and roberts come over for some young talent?

Are they not winning ? Trade young talent for these guys ? No. Stand pat, let 'em play and let the talent they have take them where it can.

The problem with waiting is in the cubs past. 2004 we waited when we were hurt only to end up with Phil Nevin and failing to make the playoffs. Certain guys on this team will not keep this pace up even though you would love them to. It only makes sense to go all out to finally bring a WS title to Chicago. The pieces are finally there to do so.
