Upcoming 2008 season full of milestones for the ACC and Hillsborough County!

High school football spring games and jamborees kicked off last week with a number of dominating victories from the local Hillsborough County juggernauts:

  • Plant 41,  Blake 0
  • Brandon 28,  Bloomingdale 0
  • Armwood 34,  Durant 0
  • Gaither 13,  Middleton 7
  • Chamberlain 13,  Hillsborough 7
  • Alonso 30,  Sickles 10
  • Tampa Bay Tech 14,  Wharton 13

This year's collegiate spring games were the warm-up to a record-setting season by many ACC athletes as well.  The following records could be set this season:

  • Clemson's James Davis can become the nation's active career overall touchdown, rushing touchdown, and rushing yards leader
  • Florida State's Drew Weatherford could become just the 2nd player in ACC history to top 10,000 career passing yards
  • Wake Forest's Riley Skinner has the opportunity become the active career passing percentage leader in the nation

Also battling on their way to the ACC Football Championship this season will be a handful of current record-holding athletes:

  • Florida State's Greg Carr is the nation's active career leader in reception yardage per catch
  • North Carolina's Brandon Tate is the nation's active career return yard leader
  • Wake Forest's Alphonso Smith is the active career leader in both interceptions and interceptions for touchdowns in the nation

The tradition of excellence is prevalent among the Atlantic Coast Conference and in Hillsborough County.  All roads of gridiron glory will lead to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on December 6th for the 2008 ACC Football Championship and the 2008 Hillsborough County High School Football All-Star game.  Grab yourself a map of the route at http://www.theroadtotampabay.com/Click there for Tickets as well.  Nowhere else will you find 2008 ACC Football Championship tickets for these low prices!  Tickets begin at just $25!
