Lakers Down 0-1 in Best of 7 by www.jamestowncalif.com

Late Night Entertainment Show 4 http://www.youtube.com/jamestownncarolina

http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/201456 Game 1 goes to Boston where the Los Angeles Lakers played descent at times, but were never in sink against a good opponent. It was like "Deja Vu", almost feeling like yesterday watching the Purple and Gold play against the Green on Home Whites. Boston got all the calls. It was loud in the arena. The players for Boston were playing good, making good outside shots, and coming up with the turnovers and loose balls. That is how I remember the series most of all when the Crowd is loud, the team playing well, and the refs here and there making poor calls in the game, sometimes because it was so loud, but coming back with good calls late in the game. It was a bizarre game, and match up for me watching the game as I was able to get glimpses of parts of the game in the 2nd quarter and second half. The Lakers in the first half did what the team needed to do by keeping the game close, feeling them out, but after halftime, the confidence level the Celtics played well in front of their home crowd and each of their performances were strong and get the W 98-88 by ten.

The Lakers outscored the Celtics 30-23 in the 2nd quarter and went on a good run after 35.
The Celtics came out after halftime, and played the half court game very well, making the extra pass, and the players for Boston were making hoops from downtown. The Celtics had the tempo all game, and toughened the Lakers momentums, and shut down the Lakers outside game in the 2nd half. The Lakers leading scorers Kobe Bryant for 24 on 9-26 FG's. Derek Fisher played well at times, and was the lead scorer early with 11 points scores 15 for the game and -seven plus/minus. Gasol scores 15, Odom scores 14 with -six plus or minus, and Radmanovic scores 5 points. The Lakers effort was there, but it looked like the team had cold feet.
Game One could have gone either way, but there was just a lot of scorers for Boston where the Lakers have yet to see this East Coast style of basketball.

KG versus Kobe? Both K Garnett and Kobe Bryant are familiar with each other when Garnett played with the T-Wolves. Both players skipped College play. This series does have its rivalry. Both teams have the players to win the NBA Championship, and it comes down to who wants it more. The Celtics lead the series 1-0, and have home court advantage. By having home court advantage, it right away shows how worthy of an opponent the Lakers have to face. The Lakers now being down 0-1 have to face their biggest challenge. I didn't like the way the team played today from the minutes I was able to watch. Some players need to take a step in on the outside shot. The Lakers guards were getting the ball stripped on the dribble drives to the lane.

KG was eating the Lakers for Lunch Game One.
The Celtics have more than one star. Ray Allen played a good basketball game, played smart. Paul Pierce gets injured, and comes back in to make the rain makers. It was unbelievable. You had to expect Boston to come out to play. The 10 Point game doesn't tell the story of how the Lakers really need to come out Game 2 differently, and Play that Lakers Basketball. This series is a War, as equivalent as some of the prior series of Lakers/Celtics, Boston and LA.
There were 13 lead changes, and 12 times this game was tied. The Celtics starting five outmatched the Lakers Game 1 with Garnett scoring 24, Pierce scores 22, Allen scores 19, Rondo scores 15, and Perkins (not Sam) gets 1 point and also gets banged up, and Cassell off the bench scores 8 points (Allen and Cassell are both familiar with Kobe and the Lakers).
The Lakers have a problem this series if they are unable to win game 2. The Lakers need to dig deep. The Bench players will need to step it up, and not look so inexperienced, throwing the ball away, making bad passes, taking the outside shot from too far.
The Celtics played good, and they looked good, and KG's team and Co., the Celtics, have their own grudge and own desire to win this Championship. KG played like a Machine, he was extremely tough on the floor. All the Celtics on plus and minus' were in the plus. Garnett goes plus 10 also gets 13 rebounds, 9 defensive, and 4 offensive.
There are a lot of good players on that Team. The Lakers do have the fire power to beat Boston. To beat the Celtics and become NBA Champions you have to win at all the elements. You have play against the starting 5 and beat the starting 5, play against the hostile and loud crowd, and win although refs make poor calls from time to time.
That is what makes a Champion when you can win all three. The Lakers shot 3-14 at three point range while the Celtics 6-19. Neither team shot the basketball that well on the FG's with LA at 41.6%, and Boston at 42.1% so the Lakers do have something there to build on, and that is to continue to play good defense and put on that pressure on the players. Defense Wins Championships. The Lakers are down 0-1 in the Best of 7 series for the NBA Finals, Who Wants it More?
