I found the comments of "Big Brown's" trainer, Rick Dutrow, to be so incredibly arrogant, I wasn't sure if I likened it more to the mother of a beauty paegent champion, or a professional bowler talkin' smack about a guy rolling into the low 90s.

Among other bulletin board material Dutrow created (assuming horses can read bulletin boards, and judging by ESPN's coverage, they assume they can at least recognize the emotion on the page), he mentioned Big Brown's victory "was a foregone conclusion" as late as Thursday.

When in history have we ever seen passively guaranteeing victory as a wise idea? When have we ever seen an example of someone saying "when he takes the lead, it's over," and had it turn out positively?

Either way, I couldn't help but laugh hysterically, when, the horse named for nothing more than a turd, finished dead last in the Belmont, a race the horse's trainer all but guaranteed he would win.

It's funny because:

A. Horse racing is the most overblown, overstated and under-needed "sport" our world knows, and,

B. Nothing is funnier than watching complete morons like Dutrow puff out their chest and bare their pride for the world to see in their 15 Minutes of Fame, only to see them as they realize that 15 Minutes will extend for a lifetime simply because of how horrifically wrong they ended up being.

So congratulations, Rick - Horse's Ass of the Year! Your horse choked worse than any other athlete - human or otherwise - in sports history, and considering yours is the least sportsmanlike of all of them, that basically makes you the ultimate loser.

Best of luck in your search for a new job, but I recommend you don't consider you getting one "a foregone conclusion."

The guy got what he deserved. BUT, I don't think there is any doubt that Big Brown was the best horse in the race. It was obvious from the start that he wasn't right. If he was right, he would have won that race in a landslide. He did, in fact, defeat Da' Tara by 23 lengths earlier in the year, I believe in the Florida Derby.

Cocky SOB got exactly what he deserved.

"I know that when that day actually does come, and if our horse is in good shape, it will be the most exciting, thrilling moment of my life."

HAHA now I am so glad that Big Brown didn't win.

Yes,it's not like the horse knew what was happening, but I kinda think it's fitting Big Brown lost.if his trainer wasn't a jerk many more people would be very dissapointed of yet another year without a triple crown.
