Rating System:

10.0: Superstar. Top two to three in their posistion in the whole NFL.

9.0 Proven Star, is not the best but is worthy of a trip to Honolulu every year.

8.0 Solid player, who may or may not be on the verge of greatness.

7.0 Player who may or may not have a lot of talent, but has yet to produce consistently at the professional level.

6.0 Player who is capable of starting, but will not dominate. Is most likely a good backup.

5.0- 0.0 Backups. May suprise everyone and become really good one day, but for now are a second or third stringer.

QB- Byron Leftwich has been named the starter, and is entering his 5th season in the NFL. I am personally a huge Leftwich fan and I think that this is the year he stays healthy and puts up big numbers. However, he has yet to stay healthy for an entire season, though that may be no fault of his own. I think in his contract year, Leftwich will make the Pro Bowl, or put up good enough numbers that he should have been elected. However, Leftwich has yet to reach that level, so I will rate him a 8.0, but I expect that number to go up to 8.5 to 9.0 by the end of next season.

RB: The Jaguars have three ball-carrying threats: Fred Taylor, a 8.5, Maurice Jones-Drew an 8.5 and most likely to rise very soon, and Greg Jones, a 7.5 coming off a knee injury. Fred Taylor is the experienced veteran in the group and had a great season last year, while staying healthy for most of the year. Maurice Jones-Drew had a brilliant rookie campaign and will only get better with time. Greg Jones showed flashes in his first two seasons, but lost last year due to injury. he is a very powerful runner that will be a good complement for Taylor and Jones-Drew. Though Greg Jones has played some fullback in the NFL, I think he should mostly be used as a half back, in single back formations where he can just take the ball and pound it.
