Gotta be completely honest here, I have been an in the closet Phillies fan ever since that faithful night of Joe Carters grand slam blast in the world series of 1993. My head bobbing up and down as he ran the bases,and I never fully recovered after that devasting loss. I was a young kid then, now as a young man I'm proud to come out of the closet and be a Phillies fan again. Was tired of getting harassed by friends calling them the sillies, and hiding at the bar so nobody could make fun of me during baseball season.
With that being said, oh my friggin god the Phillies are on a tear. I love this time, and I loved every minute making fun of the Mets fans,after there errie let down at the end of last season. This team is starting to remind me of the youth glory days, of watching an awesome phillies team in the summer of '93. Reminded of John Kruk and Dave Hollins, Darren Daulton, Lenny Dykstra, Micky Morndini Terry Mulholland, Kurt Schilling, Tom Green, and yes of course the philly heartbreak machine "Wild Thing" Mitch Williams. That was my favorite team, and now a new and upcoming philly team to be proud of. It was hard for many years to watch a Phillies game after that grandslam. I'm a long time philly fan in every sport, but I just wanted to say that it is very exciting, to be apart of philadelphia sports right now. Growing in South Jersey my whole life, its great to see the home guys doing great again. The Phillies, the flyers, the Eagles and yes the 76sixers have had a resurgence. Like someone just shocked the teams, and awaken a beast that has been dorment for far to long.
I'm on the bandwagon so to speak, and I'm lovin it. I hope the Phillies can keep it up, the team looks really fantastic right now. There always goin be, well they could be better in this area or that area,but its ok Philadelphia is lovin it, I'm lovin it especially to see the Mets crumb and money spent on Santana hahahaha. To all the Mets fans, how does it feel to be on the bottom hahahaaha. No remorse here my friends.
