As baseball just begins, and the NFL draft ends, teams start to get their rookie class into a presentable bunch of players.  However daunting a task this is, some teams achieve better results year after year.  However, rookies are not the only thing I contemplate when thinking of my rankings, I take in coaching, veterans players, chemistry, and work ethic.  So based on the rookie draft and all other attributes, here is my top ten NFL teams going into the 2008 NFL training camp.

1.) New England Patriots
Who can argue with this.  They had a great rookie draft, getting one of the best picks in recent years, Jerod Mayo.  With Mayo complimenting the other great LB's in New England, I see only one weak spot on the whole team...the secondary.  They have virtually no pass defense, and that will surely come to harm them, but with the a dominant offense and run defense, who needs to worry about the pass!

2.) Green Bay Packers
I am one of the few people with them in the top 5, even the top 10.  People are over exaggerating the loss of Favre.  Although he was an amazing quarterback, I dont think it was him leading the Packers to victory.  It was the system and the coach.  I firmly believe if you put anyone in that offense, they will be able to suceed, and with accurate QB, Aaronn Rodgers at the helm, I have no problem.  Their defense will be top 5 this year, especially with the addition of rookie CB Patrick Lee.

3.) Indianapolis Colts
Manning as always will lead an exceptionally good offense into this year, and will have a young but great defense behind him.  The only weakness I see will be staying healthy.  This was a major problem for them last year, as they could rarley get the whole offensive line out their and rarely had starting WR, Marvin Harrison.  But with a healthy team, the Colts should be one of the top teams.

4.) San Diego Chargers
An unexpected playoff run left them in high spirits, but with losses in the defensive secondary it looked as if the Bolts would be short on defense.  But luck has its way and the Chargers were given a gift drafting Antoine Cason in the upper 20's in the draft.  Cason is going to be a legit star someday, and will help out immediatly.  And with LT, and Rivers leading the offense I see no reason to doubt these Chargers.

5.) Dallas Cowboys
Rounding out the top 5 are the 'boys.  Many have them higher but I see major chemistry issues between TO, and Pacman.  I also see the RB situation going from too many good RB's to...too many fighting RB's as they all want more PT.  Mike Jenkins was a great pick for them to boost a terrible secondary, but I still have doubts about the rest of the secondary.

6.) NY Giants
No I am not a believer.  I dont see it in this team.  Yeah, they had a great run last year, but when you look up and down this roster, its really not that good, and with the loss of strahan they got thinner at DE.

7.) Jacksonville Jaguars
DelRio is a great coach.  And leading a strong veteran team with a great running game with be easy for him.  He just needs to sit back and relax and watch his team cruise through the victories.

8.) Pittsburgh Steelers
Mendenhall is a great RB, and combining him with Parker will give the Steelers the best 1-2 punch in the NFL.  And getting a big WR by the name of Limas Sweed, will help Big Ben throw 40+ TD's.

9.) Cleveland Browns
They had a great 07 campaign and only made improvements by gaining two great DT's in Corey Williams and Shaun Rodgers.  They also helped out fledgling star Anderson by picking up Stallworth, and drafting Rucker.

10.) New Orleans Saints
With the additions of Vilma, Sedrick Ellis, Dan Morgan, and Randall Gay, this defense will be one of the top in the league.  Their offense should prosper as well under Drew Brees.

Are you serious? I just posted my Power rankings. Mine were 21-32 though

And finally someone gets The packers will be good without favre. Rodgers can actually open up the offense because he is more mobile.

I don't know if you heard but Dan Morgan retired. Just saying.

I don't know about Packers at #2
Aaron Rodgers hasn't proved anything in this league yet. If you think you can just plug in any QB in that system your crazy. The QB is the single most important position on a team. There is a severe drop off in talent and experience from Favre to Rodgers.

June 9, 2008  09:09 PM ET

I am a Packer fan who thinks that the Pack will still be better than Minny but to put them second is a stretch for even me. Aging corners and Rodgers' durability concern me. I think Aaron's play will be fine but I think we might see a little Brohm this year for a couple of games.

Well just like eveyone else who doubts the Giants still, which I don't know how you still can after they knocked off all those great teams to win the Super Bowl, you can still talk **** about them, call them lucky, a fluke etc. The Giants will continue to do their talking on the field. Aside from that, the Browns, and especially the Saints, don't deserve to be anywhere near the top 10.

June 9, 2008  10:51 PM ET

How do the Browns not deserve to be up there? They were a good offense last year and only got better with stallworth. Their defense was bad, but with pickups like Corey Williams, one of the best DT's in the game, they should be fine on defense.

Corey Williams one of the best DT in the game? Rose-colored glasses look nice on you, man.

Lol. "Chemistry Issues"? Uh, no. Pacman has never had "chemistry issues", he's had strip club/shootings/disorderly conduct issues. Not Chemistry issues.

The running system is going to work exactly like it did last year. The only difference is that Felix Jones will do something with his carries, unlike Julius Jones. MB3 will get his carries, FJ will get his carries, and we're all happy. No problems there.

You don't trust the secondary? The problems with the secondary was when Henry or Newman were hurt. Then you had Jacque Reeves lining up as the #2 corner. Not good.

Newman, Henry, and Pacman should solidify the backfield. Jenkins, who might need a little while to become NFL-ready, can take nickle in-case someone gets hurt, and can play dime otherwise. Orlando Scandrick, 5th round CB and major steal, is also very talented and can shore up holes (especially if Henry starts playing Safety some plays).

Roy should be off on passing downs (thanks to Henry, as I said) or could even move up to a LB spot in the nickle/dime defenses.

Hamlin is a top 5 FS. Period. Probably top 3.

Garrett is returning. Phillips is returning. Romo has a full NFL season under his belt. Isiah Stanback, QB turned to WR, apparently is very talented and fast and will be ready to play this year. Glenn would be a bonus. Crayton wants to redeem himself. Witten is the #1 TE in the game. Ware has had his sack total up every year he's been in the NFL. Had Ellis not been hurt the first half of the season, and performed like he did the second half, he would have been the sack leader with about 17 sacks. Tank is finally football ready. Jay Ratliff has done amazing. Marcellus Bennett looks like a Jason Witten clone...bring on the two TE sets! Oh, and Tashard Choice, Felix taking kicks, Pacman taking Punts, Folk in his second-year, McBriar rebounding, etc, and you have a Super Bowl Champion. Period.

that is a loooong post...But I will respond.

Of course they will have chemistry issues. You have conflicting personalities between TO, and Pacman. Not to mention you have to star backs that will be competing with eachother for carries...reminds me of the Chicago situation a year ago with Jones and Benson...that basically ripped the team in two.

Hamlin is a top safety because right now the NFL is lacking in excellent safeties.

And I am not responding to the last paragraph because...well too much info for me.
