I'm writing this from a friend's computer in a dorm room at Boston University. Last night was my frist trip to the historic Fenway Park. Were my expectations met? My god, yes. The field was gorgeous, the atmosphere was incredible, and everything was like baseball should be. Aside from the fact that the Red Sox won, it was overall a very good game. Good pitching, timely hitting, and clean fielding.
My friend got onto TV on FSN Rocky Mountain for his sign that read "Matt Holliday Likes Weights and David Ortiz Likes Cakes" so that was cool. All night he and I kept getting asked if we were from Colorado (we're both from CT) and why we became Rockies fans. He explained that, despite never being to Colorado, he was a Rockies fan (and supports all Denver teams) because that's where his parents are from. I myself am not a Rockies fan, obviously, and had to make the "admission" to the other fans that I was, in fact, a Yankees fan. I got a few jeers from the people I told but they were mostly friendly when I told them how excited I was to be in Fenway.
We're going to the two games tonight and tomorrow and I'm still giddy. I absolutely love Fenway Park and cannot wait to come back again after this week.
