Hey everyone. No, this will not be one of my hundreds of blog which I start, this is different. No, I am not playing off the "hype" of KP's blog, though some make look at it that way. Those of you who know me, have noticed that my patience has grown thinner these past few days. I was planning to write this, more to myself, not knowing if I was alone or not...KP's blog and recent events just gave the final push.

So I will take some things off my chest which has been bothering me greatly. Now I don't want to come out sounding like a mere ranting critic, who's sole porpuse is to put down FN and the moderators...quite the contrary, I enjoy this site tremendously, and nothing would leave me more happy and satisfied than to see this site grow in popularity as well as quality.

But as a member, I feel I have the right to express myself, to give my opinions and complain. I do not put myself higher than the mods, as if some enlightened soul, not at all. However I certainly to put myself lower either. We're all the same, with different roles but in the same boat nonetheless. So here I go...

1) Inconsistancy

This is one of the things that I believe have bothered most in here. The lack of consistancy when dealing with comments, TDs, subject matters, words, phrases, accounts. The fact that one week we cant say a specific word, the other we can, and then before you know it it's bleeped out.

Now, I am not defending more "intense" curse words, such as the F word or B word, which can be offensive to some. I'm talking about the silly ones.  The "W/T/F"....the "I s.u.c.k".......the a.s.s.... As an explanation I have recieved that the A word is offensive.....so let's analyze it.

a) Everyone here is of the age of 13 or older, correct? Ok. I can guarantee every single one of them have said that word. It's not used in an offensive manner, rather just as part of the vocabulary. Do I use it? Not frequently, no, but that's besides the fact.

b) They not only use it, but they hear it constantly in school, TV and radio...it is a word permitted by the FCC, so why isn't it here? Is this middle school??

c) They not only use and hear it, but they have seen it as well, either through TV, pool or beach.

My point is this....aren't there more important things to be "moderating" over, rather than find new words you can bleep out as if this was some 5th grade class that needs constant supervision?! Totally unnecessary.

Same goes with H.i.t.l.e.r. and some obvious words I'm sure everyone knows. Do I like the man? No. Is he part of history? Yes. Is he part of SPORTS history? YES HE IS. Many times when TD subject touch on historical olympics the TDers find that these words are stupidly censored.

What I ask for is more common sense.  Seriously, can you say someone complained that some member said I s.u.c.k.?!?! Or how about W.T.F., we all know what it means, but if you censor that it will just come back in another creative form.

Censoring has become more of an inconvinience rather that a tool to better FN.  I can't even say **** at baseball...no I got to put little dots in the middle or say I stink, like some 4th grader stuck in the 90s.

But this is not the only problem, what makes it worse, is that while this silly, small, stupid words are censored with rigidness, many times I have seen truly offensive comments go uncensored and not deleted. Even while reported, the member wasn't deleted. In fact many still roam on FN, finding creative ways to offend other members. And yet nothing is done. No, they're to busy trying to find the next word to bleep out, like poo, or popsicle...

Many times I have seen funny, dumb yet innoffensive TDs get deleted rapidly while horrendous TD subjects goes on for hours.

2) Hypocrisy

At the same time these meaningless words are censored, that allegedly offends someone, we find that the mods justice is very hypocritical. How? Well while one can't say a.s.s. due to 13 yr olds being amongst us, we can post semi-nude/ semi-pornographic images of girls in sexual positions showing their a.s.s.es....Now THAT makes sense, right?

Many accounts and blogs here bear on being a nude gallery and yet I can't say ****. Why? Again lack of common sense.

I guess in the end, all I what to know is what goes through their heads while they decide what is permissible or not. Are they trying to better the site? They say they are. But are they using common sense? No.

And treating your "bosses" or customers, like they have lately, with disinformation, lack of response, lack of communication and shallow excuses certainly is not the way to go.

If they want to have a mature and respectable site with less clowning around and idiocy running loose, I suggest they start treating the site and it's member with such, respect, maturity and common sense.

If anyone was offended by any of the words I said without getting bleeped, please say so, and tell the mods, and I'll shutup.

Till then, you're all a  poopoo face, female dog, stinky butt, sucky bunch.

I think they leave the pictures of ladies, because they rationalize that they(SI) has a swimsuit issue, and there are ads for the swimsuit issue on this site occasionally...

June 13, 2008  09:34 AM ET

There are rules regarding the posting and/or inclusion of images of scantily clad women in blogs and profile pages. They have often removed images they do not feel appropriate from profile pages, but with so many users now I imagine they just cannot keep up. I have been warned on a couple of occasions though, and reminded to tone things down.

Basically, anything that could be published in Sports Illustrated is acceptable. If you have not seen the Swimsuit Issue in some time, I suggest you glance over a copy, then decide if rules have been broken. These things ARE moderated by them however.

The language issue is what it is, I think they are still learning what is really acceptable and I agree on your take on this.

You have talent hemo.

Now this is stupid...plus the group mail was suppose to help FanNation? It didn't. It is stupid..you can't delete it and it is automatically marked as read not after you clikc it, but after 12 hours. That isn't a smart addition.

June 13, 2008  01:35 PM ET

I agree COMPLETELY.

June 13, 2008  02:35 PM ET

So true. The racy avatars have always confused me. Not that I dislike the result, but why are they allowed? Seems kind of strange.
