Winning/Earning a Collegiate Football Scholarship is indeed a monumental task and takes years of hard work. With teams scouting players as early as Junior High School, the pressure to perform has increased immensely. Parents are incorporating conditioning, speed, flexibility, and strength coaches to improve their sons' chances of playing at the next level. Statistics show that less than 1% of High School football players actually receive a Division I scholarship. This pressure can be overwhelming for such young players and may be attributed to an increased use of anabolic steroids in our High School programs. Has this age of stardom and future (NFL) salaries corrupted what was once a game played for fun?
