Some more quick thoughts on another great NBA Finals game:
1. The Celtics are bringing it. I'm not going to lie, I came into the game in the 2nd quarter after my softball game, and I was ready to write another win in for the road team lying down to die. But they picked it up, either that, or the Lakers just plain dropped it...but it was a great game and the losing team never gave up.
2. Posey vs. Vujacic. 9.5ppg, 3.5rpg for Posey plus the championship experience against Sasha's 9.8ppg and
3. 3rpg and apparently a big head after game 3. Posey looks like the next Robert Horry, and Sasha looks like the next Daniel Gibson from a year ago. Wait, Gooby doesn't cry when he gets worked during crucial times in the NBA Finals.
4. Kobe the .....(fill in the blank). 1 game you get Kobe the Passer. The next game you get Kobe the Scorer. After he wins a Western Conference Final, you get Kobe the Magnificent. During the actual Finals? You get Kobe the Crier.
5. Future of Celtics. The new Spurs in my opinion. KG's minutes will decrease finally, and have a chance to rest instead of carrying his respective team for 82 games as he did in Minny. Same goes for Pierce and Allen as free agents start signing with the C's to give them solid help. But they'll have the basketball knowledge to win games they need to win.
6. Lakers Team Future. A little more dicey here. With Odom's latest fall from reliability, he may be a piece that is traded away. But the league's seen him do this time and time again...value goes down. Pao and Bynum is there best option. Kind of weird, their 2nd best option will be the guy that Kobe wanted to trade away last year. We all know what happened last time he had beefs with a star center. And the rest? Well, if Sasha lets his single good game go to his head, he could head of out of town for the first over-the-top contract offered to him, probably from a team like the Knicks or the Cavs. It'll be an interesting off-season.
7. Lakers Conference Future. Their road is only going to get harder. The Jazz and the Hornets will continue to grow with their younger, less volatile stars. Kobe's anxiety of trying to prove his "greatness" may drive him to push away all his fans and teammates.
That's it for now.
