There was some afternoon interleague action around the MLB with 3 early afternoon games and one late afternoon game.
The Chicago Cubs continued to roll with a 6-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in the stadium formerly known as the Skydome. Former Jay, Reed Johnson, who was cut by the Jays in spring training, hit a three run homer in the second to give the Cubs a 4-0 lead.
There was one NL game this afternoon between the Phillies and Cards. The Cardinals won 3-2 off of Kyle Lohse eight inning, four hit peformance and a Adam Kennedy home run.
The Boston Red Sox are leading the Cincinati Reds 6-4 in the top of the tenth. Kevin Youkilis and Coco Crisp hit back to back jacks in the tenth to give the Sox and apparent victory.
The Tigers are leading the Dodgers 12-7 in the top of the ninth, it looks like Detroit is going to win this one. Miguel Cabreara has a home run and two RBI's and Curtis Granderson has a triple and two RBI's in a slugfest win.
The Rays are leading the Marlins in the 3rd in a all-florida matchup.

There was some Group 2 action at Euro 2008 this afternoon, with Spain sinking the Swedes 2-1. Off David Villa's 4th goal of the tourney in the 90th minute. Sweden is now tied for the second playoff spot in Group 2 with Russia.
Which brings me to the second game of Group D today. There will not be a repeating champion for Euro 2008 with Russia putting the final nails in Greece's coffin with a one-nil win. Russia and Sweden will play for the second knockout round spot on Wedsenday.
The 3rd round of the U.S. Open is underway Rocco Mediate is the current leader at -1. Tiger Woods isfour strokes back at +3.
