OK, fellow NFL Fans, I feel your frustration that the NFL Network does not have as much coverage as the NFL wants. Sure, we still get our home teams' games on broadcast TV, but you want it all - every single game in the Run to the Playoffs package.

Now, I have proposed two solutions to the NFL Network carriage problem.

1. Simulcast Run to the Playoffs on various broadcast stations across the USA, regardless of what networks the stations are affiliated with (i.e. syndication; in one market a CBS affiliate might carry the game, and in another an NBC affiliate might carry it).

This solution would also benefit those without any kind of cable or satellite. The games would be truly carried nationally, even if it is not the way the NFL intended it to be.

2. Carriage compensation.

The NFL would work with ESPN and the CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates in each market (with and without an NFL team) to make sure that as compensation for carrying ESPN and the 3 network affiliates on the basic tier, that the NFL Network be placed on the basic tier as well.

Example:
In my home market, Cleveland, cable companies would be forbidden from carrying WOIO, WJW, and WKYC (the CBS, FOX and NBC affiliates in Cleveland respectively) as well as ESPN on the basic tiers unless NFL Network were placed on the basic tiers as well. Which means in order to watch hit shows like CSI, House and Heroes - alongside the other networks' NFL coverage, your cable company has to carry the NFL Network on its basic tier(s).

As far as I'm concerned, both solutions together might work. Some people may only be interested in the live games, while others want the whole network. This would also show the lengths the NFL would go to in order to cater to its fans.
