Second Round Matchups: (best-of-5)
(1) Dallas Mavericks vs. (8) Chicago Bulls
(12) Los Angeles Lakers vs. (4) Detroit Pistons
(6) Utah Jazz vs. (3) San Antonio Spurs
(7) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (2) Phoenix Suns
Mavericks vs. Bulls- Dallas will take this series 3-1 due to Chicago's inability to stop Dirk Nowitzki. They'll have no answer for him all series long. It will be an intriguing matchup of young, fast point guards in Devin Harris and Kirk Hinrich. But in the end, Dallas will take it.
Lakers vs. Pistons- The Bad Boys will win this in 5 games. Lakers will go up 2-1 in the series until games 4 and 5 in which Kobe will be shut down by Tayshaun Prince. Sheed and C-Webb will dominate down low all series as Kwame will play terrible as being the biggest bust ever.
Jazz vs. Spurs- The Jazz will take this series 3-2 because, well, simply put, Deron Williams won't get hurt in this series and will dominate Tony Parker on the perimeter. Carlos Boozer will contain Duncan underneath and Fisher will have a good shooting series as Manu Ginobili will struggle.
Cavaliers vs. Suns- Phoenix will take this series in a sweep. LeBrick will struggle due to Marion and Bell's superb defense on him all series long. They will have no answer for the pick and roll combination of Nash and Amare and Gooden and Zydrunas will be manhandled underneath. Boris Diaw will be the x-factor in this series because of the matchup problems Cleveland will have with him.
Part 3 will be posted sometime tomorrow breaking down the semifinal matchups.
