I realize that the game is not over yet (10:44 PM CST, 2:21 left in regulation), but this is the kind of game that the Boston Celtics were suppose to have throughout the playoffs.
Many of the "experts" were upset that the Celtics were forced into two Game Sevens in the first two rounds and that they didn't win on the road until the Eastern Conference Finals (when they won twice in Detroit) and that they were forced into several 15+ point comebacks in the Finals or how they "barely" held off the Lakers in their Game Two victory, but the Celtics did anything and everything to win the title that most of America thought was inevitable when the playoffs started and this game was the icing on a great season for a great franchise.
Since the game is now over (11:07 PM CST) and the final score being 131 to 92 let me go into why this was a statement game for the Celtics.  The Celtics were nearly perfect tonight; KG, Allen, and the Truth all played up to their Superstar status and led by example on both sides of the ball, the bench and role players played with intensity and were inspired to play up to the level of the leaders and were outplaying every Laker (yes EVERY Laker) by the middle of the second quarter, and the team executed well on offense and defense causing the Lakers into turnovers and mistakes making this one of the largest margin of victories in NBA Finals history (it could be the largest margin of victory, I just don't have the facts around me).
After viewing all post game interviews and the on-court celebrations; the Boston Celtics showed a lot of class and respect for the Lakers, their teammates, and the history of the franchise.  KG hugged Bill Russell and gave love to "everyone in 'Sota, in Chicago,...and SoCa" and showed geniune emotion over finally getting his championship ring.  Sure Garnett was cursing like a sailor, but that is what he does and it was a part of what he was feeling after years of frustrations in Minnesota and still needing to prove that he belongs in the conversations about the greatest forwards of all-time.  Ray Allen may have seemed distant from the celebration, but with off-the-court issues revolving around his son's health and his own career frustrations I can't blame him for not being able to soak it all in in the final moments of the game and in the post-game celebration.  Even through all of that Allen still showed knowledge of the Celtics' history and was gracious to his teammates and to the fans.  Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers took their positions as the team's heroes.  After suffering through a awful season last year, the two came back like a phoenix from the ashes and kept this team balanced and finally got the respect that both earned from how they worked during the season and the playoffs.
Congratulations to the Boston Celtics, but more importantly congratulations to all the guys that finally got their championship rings and that came together to make one final statement.

Parting Shot:
Kobe Bryant is not Michael Jordan!  He never will be and I believe that he will never be close to MJ's greatness.  Bryant disappeared in different parts of the past three games of the NBA Finals and was whining and crying about what the referees were calling and how his teammates performed throughout the Finals.  MJ was the greatest one on his team, but he realized that he couldn't have won the titles without Pippen, Horace, Rodman, or the role players around him stepping-up in the playoffs and Finals.  That is my biggest point for why Bryant will never be close to Jordan in the history of the NBA; Bryant has to get over himself and begin to respect his teammates' abilities before he can lead a team to a NBA Championship.
