Lakers Season Over Game 6 by www.jamestowncalif.com Sports

Late Night Entertainment Show 4 http://www.youtube.com/jamestownncarolina

The Los Angeles Lakers came into Game 6 at Boston in need for a win to force a game 7, and that didn't happen. The Lakers get humiliated Game 6 with the final score 131-92. The Lakers early on looked liked the team came out to play. Kobe Bryant looked good early scoring on 3 three pointers scoring 11 points early. The Lakers were never in sink this game, nor in the series. The Celtics took over the game after the 24-20 mark in the first quarter outscoring LA by 4 in the first, 19 in the second quarter, 6 in the 3rd quarter, and 10 in the 4th quarter. It was sad watching Game 6 from a Lakers Fan perspective considering how enthused many were before the game during the team introductions coming out to the floor with Kashmir as the song. This is the kind of game that separates other Lakers teams from this team. The last time I remember any Lakers team getting beat by that many points was in the 1985 NBA Finals where the Lakers were defeated 148-114 Game 1, but that team was able to bounce back Game 2 and win, and later win the series. This Lakers team was good winning the West, but to compare this Lakers team to that one is difficult by the performances we saw by all the players in the 2008 NBA Finals. Game 6 was all Boston. It was loud in the Arena, and the Lakers turned the ball over too much early in the game to fall behind. The Lakers were never able to make the runs to make the game close, and the team collapsed, or fell apart in front of all us. The Celtics get the "W" Game 6 and get the NBA Championship, and all those K Garnett critics now he has his ring. KG is a true franchise player, and he was just too strong in the middle defensively and offensively Game 6, and all series for the Team to get their 17th Title. The Lakers and Celtics have met in the Finals 11 times, and with the Boston victory in 2008, that makes the Celtics have the 9-2 edge. Was this Lakers team good enough or able to beat this Celtics Team? The answer was No. The Lakers had plenty of opportunities to play better basketball, but were never in sink this series. In Game 6 the Lakers were humiliated, and the broadcasters and sports writers used the term embarrassed. And it does hurt when the Celtics beat the Lakers, and this season with all the anticipation of the series, it was Boston that stepped it up, and it was Boston that played like they wanted it more. The Celtics big three played absolutely intelligent basketball throughout the series with each of them playing within their means and fulfilling their roles. The Play inside of KG offensively Game 6 was incredible in that 2nd quarter and defensively he was able to contest the inside play of the Lakers. The Lakers had no inside game. The Lakers didn't look strong inside, nor were able to make dribble drives to the hoop without turning the ball over on many occasions sometimes consecutively. It was sad to watch the many turnovers in that game for Lakers fans, and there was nothing that the team could or would do to mustard any runs against this Celtics team that was just too dominate. Congratulations to the players, city, coaches, former players, and management of the Celtics for winning the 2008 NBA Finals. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers for a good season winning the Western Conference. Leading scorers Game 6 for the Lakers: Kobe Bryant scores 22 points on 7-22 FG's, Lamar Odom scores 14 points, Gasol scores 11, Jordan Farmar scores 12 points. For the Lakers, the play of so many players were just not good enough to get over that hump. The play of Radmanovic was absolutely terrible, and his position offensively and defensively the Celtics out played him throughout the series. The play of Luke Walton all series was equally as bad. Some of the play of the Lakers stars, and bench role players were just putrid. The Lakers as a team played worse than putrid, and it's gotta hurt getting beat by Boston in that fashion where the Lakers were never in sink. Had the Lakers not blown Game 4 at Los Angeles, there would have been a Game 7, but still the way the team played all series, Boston was the better team. The play of this years Lakers team in the finals is what separates the other great Lakers teams in the past. Celtics leading scorers: K Garnett "Tremendous Basketball Player" scores 26 points on 10-16 FG's and 10 rebounds also had 5 assists, Ray Allen scores 26 points, Paul Pierce the Celtics team captain scores 17 points. The difference in this game was Rondos play at the guard position whether he ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at halftime in the locker room scores 21 points, but his penetration was key for the Lakers defense being on their heals Game 6. The Lakers defense had no answers for the guard penetration, no answers for KG in the inside on the post, in the lane, on the outside, and no answers to stopping the outside shots from the perimeter by Pierce and Allen. The Lakers shot 27-64 FG's at 42% While the Celtics shot 43-87 FG's at 49%. The Lakers turned the ball over 19 times to the Celtics 7, and that was a key element in this game. The Lakers get humiliated by the Celtics 131-92, and that was the worst beating I have seen by any Lakers team in the finals. The only thing left for the Lakers is go home and watch Cribs on MTV. ref box scores http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=280617002 thank you http://www.jamestowncalif.com/ www.jamestowncalifornia.wordpress.com www.jamestownjupiter.com www.youtube.com/jamestowncalifornia http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/202815 http://www.youtube.com/jamestownncarolina http://www.youtube.com/jamestownnevada Sports Broadcasting e-mail at jamestowncalifornia@gmail.com http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/204116 Just a Note: I know being a Lakers fan, this series did mean a lot to me, and it does hurt getting defeated by Boston in the finals. But I still enjoyed it more when the NY Giants won the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.
