Watching KG scream like a bafoon every team there was a timeout ticked me off. Watching Ray Allen chuck three pointers like he was racing against time on a Chuck E Cheese hoops game when his team was leading by 30 seemed disrespectful. I especially didn't like how Paul Pierce was fraternizing with his opponents by inviting them to his exclusive gang. And how many times have you seen a player like Posey give his finely-taylored coach a gatorade bath? I mean, somebody's got to clean that up before they can play, right (btw, never laughed so hard at an NBA game than watching the slo-mo expression of Doc Rivers as he's getting dunked..lmbo)? However you may want to absorb your sports figures these days, you got to at least sense the undeniable level of eff-you vibes in today's sports world...and the Celtics are currently on top of it.
Van Gundy and Jackson wanted all of the young, American kids to focus on how hard this Celtics team works, but neither man said anything as Pierce was cussing off the refs and KG elbowing Odom in the ribs. Neither man acknowledged that one team happened to have three all-stars while the other had just one and a half (I think that was the real difference at the NBA level). It's that funny double standard we affiliated fans begrudgingly stomach; the unleashed **** who just made an awesome play to help our team. I mean, who are we kidding? You ever do that at the Y when you stuff a 13 y/o who's just trying to make his freshman squad? Or to that middle-aged patent attorney who's just playing because he doesn't want to look too fat at the office? No way, but if some guy on your beloved team does it, why would you care? I am curious to know how many New Englanders pop their Larry Legend jerseys and give the "A" sign these days.
I guess the Association has always embraced flashy play, but I thought they hated the thug sterotypes that supposedly turned off the casual fan. I wonder if we as fans have elevated the meaning of being a champion to ungodly heights. Whatever it is, it's starting to make me not care so much about sports...well at least basketball.

I agree to a certain extent. I personally was extremely annoyed during ESPN's post game interviews when KG unnecessarily screamed "anything is possible" why are we doing that KG? I know you're not used to winning NBA titles but come on now.

This is an idiotic post, and smacks of nothing but sour grapes. First....everyone on every team in the league is cussing up and down the court all game. Odom doesn't act all flashy and cocky??? what about Kobe??? Did you not see Kobe cussing and yelling at his teammates in the huddles?? The double standard is that when Kobe does it, he's being a leader, but when the Celts do it, they are being "Punks"???
Second, if you followed the game in the 1980's, you'd know that the Lakers invented flashy in the NBA. No one played the game with any less class or respect for their opponents than the Pistons of the late 1980s..... the Celts are extremely mild compared to that.
As far as KG's screams, I found it a refreshing disply of pure all out emotion and love of the game....not some canned response you see from most athletes today. Let the Celtics enjoy their Title, and quit whining about the way they did it.

I agree with KG screaming like a drunk hobo after the game. That was completely unneccassry and laughably stupid. It was really bizarre actually.
As for the Celtics, they were obviously better. Kobe wasn't as good as he should have been and the Lakers forgot how to play defense. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have the right to talk and enjoy it because they spanked the Lakers.

"Watching Ray Allen chuck three pointers like he was racing against time on a Chuck E Cheese hoops game when his team was leading by 30 seemed disrespectful."
Why? Isn't the aim of the game to win?

It seemed disrespectful, but that concept is so diluted that I'm not sure anyone has the interest or balls to call it out anymore.

What seemed disrespectful? That he wanted to score points? Against the opposition? That he is paid to score points against?

Cussinf at referees? Let me point out that Pierce never said anything in papers about the refs, but Radmonovic, and Gasol did. Also, DO YOU HONESTLY THINK HE WAS THE ONLY 1 CUSSING?!?!?!?!? DO YOU WATCH BASKETBALL? And it sounds like you r accusing us of running up the score, and if we did, good. Do something about it, score some points, don't just lay on the floor like an insect and die. For KG it is all intensity, people who do not have it laugh at it, find it crazy, but those who have it are pumped up, and believe me, some 1 with intensity will kick the ever loving crap out of someone with none or a little.Get it through your heads aswell, Kobe wasn't putting 40 a night because our d kept him off balance, and barraged him with the best defensive attack in the NBA.
