Well-- I SHOULD be content; at least I got tickets. But it is once again to a non-conference game, and how I found out REALLY p*sses me off: they charged my credit card and didn't notify me. I had no idea that I got a game, I had no idea the charge went through, and I had no idea WHICH game I got.
So I once again call the Ohio State Athletic Ticket Office, and once again try not to lose my cool on the poor CSR who is unfortunate enough to end up with me...
Me: Hello. I noticed that my card has been for tickets. I thought that wasn't going to be happening until July 1st.
CSR: Well, the information actually says anytime up to July 1st. If you're not charged before July 1st, then you didn't get tickets.
Me: OK, that's fine; I just wasn't expecting it this soon. Can you tell me which game I got?
CSR: You should have gotten an email with that information.
Me: I just checked. There's nothing there.
CSR: Your email address is ******@*****, right?
Me: That's correct. But I received nothing.
CSR: You should check your spam filters and make sure...
Me: I did. There is nothing there.
CSR: Oh. Hold on a minute... [leaves and talks to someone else]... OK. Well, there is a mailing going out soon.
Me: [sigh] Can you tell me which game I got?
CSR: What's your name again?
Me: [HEAVY SIGH] buck-i-girl.
CSR: OK... You got Youngstown State.
Me: Of *course* I did. Thank you.
CSR: [cluelessly] OK. Bye!
It's a good thing I really love my alma mater...

Does that even count as a game? I would be livid. I'm lucky that I have an inside hook up, those lotteries are gonna cause the School to lose some major alumni donations...come to think of it I think I lost that check this year,lol.

Thank fully I'm not an alumni yet..and can still enter the student ticket lottery with UW. Which in all actuality really sucks for UW branch campus students..oh well at least I go the tickets. Ohio State's system sounds really messed up? Is this the first year that they implemented it? Maybe they'll get it all worked out.

Yeah it sucks, but whaddarya gonna do? Not try? Drive two hours (or more) and HOPE you can get a reasonably priced ticket?
Badger-- when I was in school, we paid $40 for the season (all conference games), and anyone could get a ticket as long as they were FT. Now, it's $124 for the season, and they only allot 30,000 student tickets-- when they're gone, they're gone... the money machine has gotten completely out of control...

Getting tickets to the spring game might be preferable...
I am trying to remember, but I think student season tickets were around $40, a bit more if you bought the 1st game before classes started (OSU was using quarters then) and students were guaranteed tickets if they applied. if you sat by someone who was game, you could group your tickets and sell a minor game for twice the cost for the season. The biggest challenge wasn't finding a buyer, it was getting up to meet the buyer Saturday Morning after partying until 5AM Friday night...
Of course, there were only 17 letters in the alphabet then... and we liked it that way...
...and yes Badger, I do still have and sometimes wear some of the same shirts I wore to those games...
