Who goes and who stays in Denver? The answer to that question will influence the future of the Denver Nuggets and possibly the future of other NBA teams as well. I know there's pros and cons to either choice, but is there a right choice? If George Karl was an adequate coach for these Nuggets would he be able to get them to play defense? Karl says he is willing to look at any and all trade possibilities to make the Nuggets a better team. What about the ultimate trade? George Karl would trade his seat on the Denver bench for a lounge chair on some beach and into the sunset of retirement.

Karl is the most overated coach in the league. However, ownership will keep him. Melo needs to stay Karl needs to go. Should be an interesting summer.

Send Karl packing. He thinks he can win without defense.

Fire Karl...he doesn't know how to get his players motivated to play defense. I say we should be the first team to have offensive and defensive coordinators

Get rid of both of them. Melo doesn't want to or can't play defense and Karl hasn't done anything in the playoffs anywhere he has coached. Melo is overrated and Karl is as well. We have too many injury prone players with way too large of contracts. Guaranteed contracts in professional sports have destroyed the sports. One bad/unlucky personnel move and a team can be set back 3,4, or 5 years. Just look at the Rockies and Todd Helton. Yes he was a great player but he is absolutely killing that team now. He is so far overpaid it is ridiculous, they couldn't give him away if they wanted to and they can send him to the minors and pay him $17M a year. Guaranteed contracts that count against salary caps are stupid and guaranteed contracts will continue to kill small market teams and increase the gap between the "Have's and have not's"

Good insights golfsnow, but like you said guaranteed contracts can't be done away with that easily. Melo's contract is guaranteed under union rules. Karl is way past his best years...

Karl is proven to be a non-finishing coach...
Take a look at his resume.
Here, I'll do everyone the favor.

Lost in the Finals and lost twice in the Conference Finals....
He's a great coach throughout the whole reg season, but as far as playoff time? He's terrible! He doesn't know how to handle pressure and his talented team(s)
