This year I look forward to watching the Browns. Last year they were 2nd in AFC North just behind the Steelers. They just missed the playoffs after the call the refs made in Arizona thanks to the NFL rules that wouldn't allow a good review.
Derek Anderson turned the Browns luck and even made it to the pro bowl as his first year of being starter. He threw for 3,787 yards last year, completing 298 of 527. His QB rating was 82.5%. He also threw for 29 TD's. This season should be better for him now that he has experience and plus Frye isn't going to be there to ruin the first game or two.
The receiving corp is good with Braylon Edwards, Joe Jurevicius, and Kellen Winslow Jr. is a great tight end. But this season is going to get better because the Browns have now added Donte Stallworth. He has been with the Patriots and knows what to do to get to the superbowl so hopefully he could help the inexperienced people to excell in their skills.

Last season Braylon and Kellen both had over 1,100 receiving yards. Braylon had 1,289 and Kellen had 1106. Kellen averaged 13.5 yards a catch and Braylon averaged 16.1 yards a catch.
The Browns running game is also good if Jamal Lewis can do as good as he did last year. He can run through just about anybody you put out in front of him like it's nothing. It usually takes a couple guys to take him down. Last season he had 1,304 rushing yards with 9 TD's, and averaged 4.4 yards per carry. And Joshua Cribbs is fast and has great agility returning the football after the kickoff's and punt returns. He averaged 13.5 yards a return and had a few touchdowns.

The only thing I have concerns about is the Browns defence. They can never get it together it seems like. There best defencive players are Andra Davis, Eric White, Sean Jones, Kamerion Wimbley, Shaun Rogers, and D'Qwell Jackson. All these guys had roughly 70 tackles except Davis, but he makes many key plays, and is one of the better defenders.

But overall I have a feeling the Browns will do much better this coming season, and Might get 1st in the AFC North. There schedule is better than the Steelers to also helping them. I say that because the 2 key easy games they have over the Steelers are the Broncos and the Bills. Other than that it's the same. The three teams they will struggle with is the Colts, Cowboys, Jaguars, and they will most likely have a hard time against the Giants.
But im still looking forward to this season.

The Browns are legit. This could push for a wild card spot. It'll be interesting to see the defense. I know the Browns made an effort to upgrade the defense but I'm interested to see if it actually helped during the season.

I actually have the Browns finishing second to Pittsburgh again but they both are 9-7 and both in the playoffs in my calculations. I expect them to split their games this year.
I also think this is the last year the Browns play second fiddle in their Division for some time to come. They are just to young and potent on Offense. Their Defense will be improved but, it's that Offense that will just kill apposing teams.

You know, for all the talk of the Browns "High Powered Offense" floating around on the internet, people seem to be overlooking that they only scored 9 more points than the Steelers did last season. The offenses are comparable, and the Steelers upgraded theirs this offseason with the rookie additions.

Yea but the Browns upgraded theirs to with a superbowl experienced reciever.
The Browns main problem was defence. They have also upgraded it to with the draft.

Cleveland, nice blog.. I'd say though that the Browns top defensive players are Eric Wright, Shaun Rogers, Jones, Brandon McDonald, Kamerion Wimbley, and D'Qwell.

Basically, I feel that the Browns are very talented. They were very good last year, and the stats and 10-6 record didn't even show the fact that the defense was decent after about week 5 and only allowed touchdowns due to bad play calling. The offense was spectacular, too, and they also got robbed by a bad call in the Arizona game and should have won both Steelers games.
But alas, there's no way they will be that good this year. Cleveland is destined to be miserable for all eternity, and as this year's Indians and Cavs have shown, we are not allowed to ever put together a good run of sucess.
So I will go completely against common logic and say the Browns finish 5-11. Even though they should win at least 11.
