A legal battle continues to play out in court about whether Major League Baseball owns the right to player statistics for use in fantasy baseball games. The case is in the appeals process now, but it could have a ripple effect on the future of the fantasy sports industry beyond just baseball if a court rules in favor of MLB as it could limit the number of companies running games.

So should MLB or any other major sports league have the right to own player statistics, especially when it comes to fantasy games, which can be a money-making enterprise, or are the numbers in the public domain like it is in the newspaper or Web site? How do you think this case could affect your involvement in it (like paying more to play in certain games if only a few companies can run things)?
