I was happy with the addition of Keenan last year. The team showed better on the road, which was one of their glaring weaknesses. But, alas, another playoff flop. Good enough to make the playoffs, but thats about it. Its really tough rooting for a team that fights and battles for every win, but refuses to tank a season to get a top 3 pick. I can't remember the last time a Canadian team had a true super star, marquee player. It must be nice to live in a market where winning is a matter of convenience. Can anyone say "Pittsburgh, Atlanta, or Nashville", just to name a few. I certainly can!
Pardon my sour grapes. Its grates on me when Canadian team get lambasted for not winning the cup. There's more at play than just wins and loses. I respect a team like St. Louis that makes winning and advancing to the playoff a matter of tradition. Despite their recent downturn, check their record over the last 30 years because its truly impressive. What I love - a team with character that takes pride in winning.
