Team Overview:
Oklahoma is coming off yet another embarrassing loss in a bowl game this time to WVU. Not to worry, the sooners return a plethora of talent led by Heisman contender QB Sam Bradford. A Year ago Bradford led the nation in passing efficiency and had 36 TD's against only 8 picks while throwing over 3,000 yards. Quite simply he is a star and has all the makings of one. At RB this team returns the speedy DeMarco Murray, and the powerful Chris Brown, both are stars in the making especially Murray who has the potential to be one of the elite backs in the NCAA, mainly because of his ridiculous speed.Murray and Brown should form one of the best tandems in the Big 12. The WR core lost star Malcolm Kelly, but returns Juaqim Iglesias the leading receiver on the Sooners a year ago and future 1st round pick and an extraordinary red zone player, TE Jermaine Gresham, he had 11 TD's a year ago and expect similar numbers this season. Expect Manuel Johnson and Quentin Johnson to step up and shoulder some of the production that was lost from Malcolm Kelly. The "O" line is the best in the country, they have 5 seniors and all are all big-12 contenders. The stars are Duke Robinson and Phil Loadholt, both received all american hors last season and expect many more this season as both are great at protecting Sam Bradford's weakside. The offense averaged 42 points a game last season expect similar if not better numbers this year. The "D" is where this teams season will be made or broke. The "D" line is very good with DE Auston English back after leading the Big 12 in sacks a year ago and DT's Gerald McCoy and DeMarcus Granger are both all-american candidates. The LB corps is solid talent wise but the loss of Big 12 Defensive player of the year Curtis Lofton hurts. Ryan Reynolds moves to the middle after a decent season a year ago, he will have to play extremely well this season. Keenan Clayton who impressed in the spring will anchor one side the other falling to talented Freshman Austin Box. The secondary lost it's star in corner Reggie Smith and will have to step up in order to make up for the loss, but safety's Lendy Holmes and Nic Harris are both good, especially Harris an all-american candidate and the teams leading returning tackler.

Team Overview:
Last Season was a great one for Texas Tech they played well and even pulled a huge upset off against Oklahoma. This season should be better for the Red Raiders. QB Graham Harrell returns and in only 2 years as a starter he has 10,000+ TD's and 86 TD's. After a huge season a year ago he is a dark horse Heisman candidate and with another big season can break Colt Brennan's TD record. AT RB this team has Shannon Woods, and Aaron Crawford, but their main uses will be blocking and catching swing and screen passes in the pass happy TTU offense. The WR core is stacked behind record-setting sophomore Micheal Crabtree. Crabtree last season as a freshman was close to setting records for catches and yards in a season. If he plays as well as he is supposed to this season those records may be his. The scary part is last season he won the Blitnikoff awards a freshman, now in year 3 in the system expect a leap in production and a huge season. This team also has Ed Britton and Eric Morris at WR both have plenty of experience and the skills to be solid compliments to Crabtree. The "O" line is vastly underrated, for how much this team passes they do an incredible job of protecting him. Guard Louie Vasquez is a great offensive lineman and will contend for all-american honors. The "D" will be the key to the season. THe line returns all 4 starters end Brandon Williams is a good pass rusher and the staff thinks he can be a double-digit sack artist, and transfers Daniel Howard, and McKiner Dixon will get play time. THe Linebackers are two returning starters with Brian Duncan the leader, and Maarlon Williams a returning starter is also expected to be a big contributer. The secondary only returns 2 starters, but both are very good. Safety Dacel McBeth has started 3 years in a row so he is ready. CB Jamar Wall last season had 5 interceptions and will be the lockdown corner for this team.

Team Overview:
The Horns continued their consistency with another 10 win season a year ago, but this team did underachieve a bit. QB colt McCoy is back, but last season was a let down throwing 18 picks and getting sacked 25 times, but he threw for a lot of yards and emerged as a legit scrambler running for nearly 500 yards a season ago. McCoy should improve this season closer to his first season as a starter, but only if he improves his decision making. QB John Chiles is expected to play much more this season as a change-of pace QB. The loss of Jammaal Charles hurt, but Vondrell McGee is the RB who is expected to be the starter and he is the polar opposite of Charles. McGee is a tough hard-nosed back who runs between the tackles. The WR/ TE core is a bit hurt, by the loss of Limas Sweed. WR Quan Cosby was very good a season ago, so expect a even better season from him and Jordan Shipley also to at least repeat last seasons production if not improve on it. The "O" line is quite good they retrun 2 all-big-12 candidates Guard Cedric Dockery and Tackle Adam Ulatoski. The "D" line is good with DE freak athlete Brian Orakapo. He is expected to become a star this season and this team has solid tackles in Lamarr Houston and Roy Miller. THE LB corps is vastly underrated, OLB Sergio Kindle is a star and if injuries don't bother him he may take an all-big-12 honoree season. The middle LB spot is occupied by returning starter Rashad Bobino. The secondary will be the big problem on te team. Corner Ryan Palmer is the only returning starter, but the other CB role will be filled with last years key reserve Deon Beasley. The safety's are more than likely going to be freshman. The biggest addition to the "D" was getting energetic superstar defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.

Team Overview:
After the struggles with Dennis Franchione era the Aggies made a great hire going into the NFL pool by getting Mike Sherman the former coach of the Packers. Expect a huge change in philosophies this season. No more zone read a pro-style offense is now the offensive style for this team, so no more running with the QB. At QB this team returns for his 3rd year as a starter the speedy, but strong QB Stephen McGee. McGee had 900 yards rushing a year ago, but as I eluded to there will be no more of that running as much with McGee so expect more passing this season. RB Mike Goodson is a speedster and was the big home-run threat, he will get the majority of the carries on 1st and 2nd down. On 3rd down and short yardage situations this team will give the ball to 285lbs fullback Jovorskie Lane. Lane holds the school record in TD's for a career, but expect a dip in production as he was playing RB the previous 3 seasons. THe WR core is inexperienced, though it is filled with small speedy wideouts like Pierre Brown and Roger Holland. The "O" line is the key for the season. They only return 1 starter guard Mike Shummard, but the Senior tackle Travis Schneider is the key player on the line he does have some experience. The "D" line is just as inexperienced returning only 1 starter, but Cyril Obiozor is a really talented end who can get to the QB. They have an x-factor at DT, Kellen Heard can for sure block holes on the line at 6-6 345 he is an absolute load . The LB corps is just as inexperienced but this team has some solid players especially Von Miller as the new coaching staff really likes him. The secondary will be the strength of this team. CB Arkeith Brown returns after a solid season.Safeties Alton Dixon Jordan Pugh and Devin Gregg return after contributing significantly last season, new CB Jordan Peterson is not totally new to the job as he played a lot last season.

Team Overview:
Oklahoma State last season was not so famous for the plays they made, but the famous speech the Head Coach of the Cowboys Mike Gundy made, the "I'm a man I'm 40" speech that I am sure you have all seen on youtube and numerous spoofs of that video. Well the Cowboys are actually brimming with talent, and I am going to say it now before I release my conference power rankings the best conference in football the Big 12. If not for this super strong conference the Cowboys would be a serious BCS contender as a as a sleeper. Oh, and the team QB Zach Robinson may be the most underrated QB in the nation a year ago he had nearly 3,000 yards passing and was 12th in passing efficiency in the nation/ He also ran for 800+ yards and 9 TD's quite simply he is up there with Tim Tebow, Pat White.Matt Grothe, Jake Locker, and Dan LeFevour as the best dual threat QB's in the game. RB Kendall Hunter had over 800 yards of total offense as a freshman and expect him to become the feature back. The WR core will not be that bad, Dez Bryant was a star as a freshman with 622 yards and 6 TD's, Jeremy Broadway also has some experience. At TE Brandon Pettigrew if he stays out of trouble will be a star and probably a 1st round pick. THe "O" line is decent returning 44 starters headed by the right side of the line Guard Steve Denning and tackle Brady Bond. On the "Defensive side of the line this team only returns 1 starter, Jeray Chatman. The LB's are fire with Patrick Levine and Andre Sexton both talented players. The secondary returns 3 starters including CB/star returner Perrish Cox.Watch out for this team are loaded at anytime they could pull an upset.

Team Overview:
Baylor has a new coach in Art Briles, I don't know much about Briles so I can't really say much about Briles, but he never was wildly successful at Houston. The QB position is a huge battle. Last season starter Blake Symanski is back after throwing for 22 TD's and 2,800+ yards but he did have 18 picks. True Freshman Rob Griffin appears the leader in the QB battle. He enrolled early and was a superstar in the spring, he is a big guy with good mobility, the last QB is Miami Transfer Kirby Freeman, Freeman is a senior so this is his last shot and he needs to win this battle or it is over. I am not sure but I'd guess that Briles is not against playing 2 QB's as he did that at Houston. The RB situation is unclear, Jay Finley has the spot now, but he is small, but still does not have great burst or speed. The WR's are quite good including WR David Gettis a track star who is 6-4 206 with Briles pass heavy offense I expect Gettis to become the focal point and develop into a star and maybe even leave early to the NFL. WR Thomas White is also a good wide out he had 8 TD's a year ago, and that number should improve. AT TE this team has Justin Akers back a legit weapon with 43 catches a year ago. "O" line is solid with 4 returning starters including a pair in JR center JD Walton and senior tackle Jason Smith. THe "D" is solid returning 8 starters, but really struggled a year ago allowing 37 points per game 8th worst in the nation. The "D" line is weak aside from end Jason Lamb who is a solid pass rusher and had 7 sacks a year ago. THe LB corps has a star in former Big 12 newcomer of the year Joe Pawlek. Last season Pawlek had 99 tackles and expect him to be a big-time contributor this season. In the secondary this team has one of the best safeties in the nation in the underrated Jordan Lake who last year had 120 tackles, I think he has the potential to be a first day pick in the NFL.

Team Overview:
Last season was a historic one for Missou. They went 12-2 and had a top 5 finish. This season could be even better. At QB this team returns heisman candidate Chase Daniel. Last season Daniel had a huge I mean big time season and was a heisman finalist he returns tons of weapons so watch out. AT RB this team has the explosive hyped up RB Derrick Washington and the proven vet Jimmy Jackson I expect them to split carries this year. AT WR this team has one of the best in the game the nations leader in total yards last season Jeremy Maclin a 6-1 200 pound blazer who will be a handful for other teams. Also at WR this team has Danario Alexander who played sparingly last season, but is a star in the making and has te size at 6-5 210 to be a dangerous red zone threat, and Tommy Saunders another player who played a little last season, but has a lot of skills that will be utilized this season. AT TE this team has one of the best in the game Chase Coffman, who will get even more catches this season with the graduation of fellow TE Martin Rucker. The "O" line returns 3 starters and is pretty good led by right tackle Colin Brown. On the "D" line this team has worlds of potential at teh ends in Stryker Sulak a real good player and Tommy Chavis. AT DT Ziggy Hood returns and should be good. The LB corps is the strength of this team. OLB Sean Weatherspoon is amazing he had over 100 tackles a year ago and is just a playmaker, I just love him. In the middle Brock Cristopher is back he is steady and a good tackler. AT the other LB spot Van Alexander will start and he is solid, but may not be ready for the start of the season after ACL surgery. The secondary is also very good returning all 4 starters. CB Carl Gettis is very talented and last season developed into a shutdown corner this season as a sophomore expect him to become a star. The other CB spot is occupied by Castine Briggs a vet experienced player. At the safety spot this team has the best defensive player in the Big 12 William Moore, he had over 100 tackles a year ago and 8 picks, he is a future top 10 pick in the NFL.

Team Overview:
This is my sleeper team for the season, Nebraska did not make a bowl a season ago, but they brought in Bo Pelini a great hire, who really knows his stuff they return loads of offensive talent and I think the schedule is easy enough. At QB Joe Ganz will be the starter. A Year ago in 3 starts he had 1,399 yards and 15 TD's. 15 TD's! I think he is going to be a solid player for the Huskers and really develop into an all-big 12 QB. At RB this team has the top RB in the Big 12 and one of the best in the country. A year ago he had over 1,000 yards rushing and 700+ yards receiving he is simply a real good talent. AT WR this team will be led by Nate Swift a real talented player. AT the "O" line this team has 4 returning starters including the star at RG, senior Matt Slauson. On the "D" line this team returns all 4 starters led by Ends Barry Turner and Zach Potter. This team lost all l3 LB's but watch out for for LB Cody Glenn he emerged in the spring after switching from RB, he and Phillip Dillard are the 2 best LB's this team has. The secondary returns 2 starters including Corner Armando Murillo he was decent a year ago, but I have heard from a friend who is a Nebraska fan that he is looking real impressive.

Team Overview:
The Jayhawks could have made a legit case for the National Title a year ago though they would not of deserved it if they received it. This season the Jayhawks will more than likely fall of big time, or at least I think so. At QB this team has QB Todd Reesing a surprise star a year ago throwing for over 3,000 yards a year ago. At RB Jake Sharp returns, but don't expect the job to be given to him. Jocques Crawford the junior college player of the year may become the starting RB for this team. AT WR Dexton Fields and Dezmon Briscoe both return after solid season's a year ago. The "O" line lost a lot of talent so this may become a huge problem, because I feel that Kansas will struggle because of this. The "D" is decent. At DE this team returns Russell Brosern and John Larsen, but both are just average. AT LB this team returns 3 senior starters led by Joe Mortenson who is a great player and all-american candidate. In the secondary this team returns 3 starters but they one that they lost held together a secondary that actually was not that good. The biggest reason I see a drop off is a very, very hard schedule that they just can not manage.

Colorado last season, had a solid season they played well and got to a bowl upsetting Oklahoma during the season. This season they return QB Cody Hawkins who had over 3,000 yards yards a season ago. He really improved towards the end of the season and may soon become a star in the Big 12. AT RB this team has 5* recruit Darrell Scott expected to start and contribute right away for the Buffs. AT WR this team has tons of talent including Darrell Scott's cousin Josh Smith a speedster with a knack for theDeep ball expect him to breakout this season. The Buffs also have talented WR's Pat Williams and Scotty McKnight. The "O" line only returns 2 starters headed by right tackle and last seasons freshman sensation Ryan Miller. The "D" line returns 3 starters imc;uding all-conference DT George Hypolite a great run stopper and talented pass rusher. 2 LB's return including OLB Brad Jones a senior a player who has been very stead y throughout his career. The CB's from a year ago are both gone so a pair of reserves from a year ago are back in starting roles and both safeties return including big-hitting safety Ryan Walters.

Team Overview:
The K-State Wildcats have a lot of potential this season to be a very good team. At QB this team returns big armed QB Josh Freeman. Freeman is 6-6 250 and threw for over 3,000 yards a season ago. He is a player I liken a lot to JaMarcus Russell and I expect him to be a high pick much like Russell. At RB juco transfer Dan Thomas a big back may be the starter though last years backup for the Cat's Leon Patten a pint sized pack with shifty moves, also may be the starter. This team lost about have of the teams receiving in one player. WR Jordy Nelson. To replace him this team will need last years second leading receiver and playmaker Deon Murphy will take over the role of star on the team. He had 57 catches and 8 total TD's including 3 running. He is also a top Punt and Kick returner watch out, he is a real good player. On the "O" line this team returns 4 starters including big center Jordan Bedore a senior who has good skills. On the "D" this team returns both eds including end/line backer hybrid Ian Campbell. 2 years ago Campbell had 11.5 sacks and was a star. Last season he played LB and was held to 4.5 sacks and did not make a huge impact like this team would have liked. Now he will play both and expect his production to shoot back up. AT LB this team returns only 1 starter senior Reggie Walker who has shown flashes of brilliance from time-to-time. In the secondary both safeties return led by Gary Chandler.

Iowa State is a program in rebuilding mode. Year 1 of the Gene Chizik era was what everyone expected nothing special. In year 2 there will be a big adjustment. Bret Meyer will not be the QB. It appears either Austen Aranad or Phillip Bates will take over the QB role in a huge adjustment for the team. AT RB this team has lot's of depth with 2 backs with significant playing time the the speedy Alex Robinson and the more powerful and more commonly used Jason Scales. AT WR this team returns RJ Sumrall a gig receiver with over 50 catches a year ago. He and another even bigger receiver Marquis Hamilton will be the top 2 targets. THe "O" line has 4 starters back including Center Brandon Johnson a solid player. On the "D" line this team has both ends back including the speedy Kurtis Taylor. AT the LB spots only MLB Jesse Smith returns, but the player is a star in teh making he had 79 tackles a year ago and appears poised to breakout. The secondary is returning intact led by CB Chris Singleton a vet who has played consistently for 3 seasons and Safety James Smith who had nearly 85 tackles a year ago.

Oklahoma Vs Missouri
OU will come into this game ready and be riding one of the most explosive offensive attacks in the country. Missou can claim the same. So I feel it will come down to defense. OU has a huge edge on the defensive line so that is one thing they will have to do get after Chase Daniel. The problem is he is so mobile it is very hard to get sacks on him. Missou has a better LB corps and the real kicker is Missou has a better secondary too, and I think Bradfor will have trouble passing on William Moore and co. and that will really hurt OU. The x-factors in this game are the return men DeMarco Murray for OU and Jeremy Maclin for Missou. Both are among the best in the game and if one of them breaks off a big return it could change the course of the game in a flash. Chase Daniel and Missou just have more experience and a better secondary a close game that will be a classic battle , but I got...

I know I'm biased, but Texas greatly underachieved last year due to injuries up-front, conservative play-calling, and a Def Coordinator scared to let the "D" loose. With these problems being addressed this year, I automatically expect another 10-win season and will go one further with 11 wins in the regular season. The RB situation is murky, but I think either Vondrell McGee or Fozzy Whitaker will emerge.

Expect the Longhorns to surprise the nay sayers... the defense will be improved and McCoy will shine in running the offense. No question that 10 wins will happen AND happen in the regular season.
