As I countdown to the start of a new college football season there are many things I have noticed over the years that seem to occur every year no matter what

Things like....

1. The offseason seems to take ages to come, just when it seems it cant get any slower it does, yet when the season starts it seems to be over in the blink of an eye

2. Fans (including me) always over-estimate their teams ability, fans usually have this big idea that their team can go undefeated or only loose a game or two, then when the season is over they are let down, and always say next year is gonna be our year, while the chances of any team winninig the title is 119-1

3. No matter what your team is always better than someone elses, you will hear some pretty crazy threats, things like one I recently heard when some one said that Alabama was in better shape to win the SEC than LSU

4. Seasons never turn out the way people expect, no one expected to see Kansas or USF or Boston College in the top two, we had so many #1 and 2 changes I can't count them,

5. People seem to worship preseason analysis in magazines or TV, even though to me they are a waste of time because when the season is over, over 85% of them are wrong

This season anything can happen, I have tried to predict who will win the SEC, but man it was a task, and I know that most of my predictions are inaccurate also, but for the SEC nobody knows what will happen. Any way I can't wait till kickoff of the 2008 college football season

Sorry couldn't control myself!

I agree the offseason always drags. I also agree that when the season is here it moves way too quick. But, that's why I enjoy places like this so much.

Maryland will win.

Your right. There is so much analysis, and when the season is underway, all of it is hogwash. That is what we love about sports, they are unpredictable.

I think given the past couple of years the mood in Columbus is kind of a wait and see excitement.

Its like the whole town saw their girlfriend makin out with some other guy, and is happy to get back with her, but....

still can't believe it's so far away, it seems like it would be short.

Counting down the days til college football is like the last week of school, slow and boring

On my calender i have the countdown till kickoff and right now it says we only have 62 DAYS! oh and just a tip if you ever do this, don't start the countdown until there is about 50 days left because I started at about 130 and it's making go insane.
