My 2008 NBA Mock Draft

  1. Chicago Bulls PG Derrick Rose - Beasley would be a better fit in Chicago, but they love Rose's ability to create and penetrate and pass pretty much at will. With homegrown Rose running the point the Bulls can now get more pieces by making Kirk Hinrich expendable.
  2. Miami Heat SG O.J. Mayo - They won't be able to do the draft and trade thing, so they'll take their man in O.J. Mayo/Wade would be an unstoppable tandem. Mayo and Wade play a similar game, but Mayo might half to work on the point and pass the ball a little bit more.
  3. Minnesota Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley - This could end up being the best pick in the draft if Beasley stays there and if he keeps his head on straight. He's got potential to be an a great player. Also, with the two bigs Beasley and Jefferson set inside they can continue to grow around them and find more pieces.
  4. Seattle SuperSonics PG Jerryd Bayless - The Sonics almost get caught up in the rising Westbrook story, but they go with their original favorite in Bayless and make three spots solid in the starting roles. Bayless gives them another legitimate scoring option, but more importantly a real, true point guard.
  5. Memphis Grizzlies PF Kevin Love - This team needs a ton, but with rising star Rudy Gay playing as the franchise player Love will be a good complement to him as a pounder who will hit the boards and give you twenty and ten to help another rebuilding franchise.
  6. New York Knicks SF Danilo Gallinari - His father is buddy-buddy with D'Antoni already and this should make them even better friends Gallinari is a not so good defender, but with above average scoring potential. A solid pick for a stuggling franchise.
  7. Los Angeles Clippers SG Eric Gordon - Another one of the combo guards who will be great playing alongside Shaun Livingston or if he cannot return to his old ways taking his place. This also gives them a chance to dump Corey Maggette since Gordon can score just as well as Maggette.
  8. Milwaukee Bucks SF Joe Alexander - An extremely hard worker with Joe. He was not even heard of until this year, but has worked his way into the draft and even the lottery. Only issues is defense and the length on his shot, but Skiles will make sure his defense improves.
  9. Charlotte Bobcats PG Russell Westbrook - This will be a very though decision for Charlotte do they take Lopez and let Okafor return to his natural position or take the ever climbing potential of Russell Westbrook to play along with Felton or run the point when he's not in their. Acquiring the 20th pick tells me they can find a big in the later round.
  10. New Jersey Nets C Brook Lopez - They are extremely happy that Brook fell this far. With there starting back court set they can continue to build a good group of bigs in Boone, Williams, Krstic (if he ever gets healthy again), and Lopez leading the charge as a starter in the middle.
  11. Indiana Pacers PF Anthony Randolph - With their star player Jermaine O'Neal gone the Pacers will look to replace him and Randolph has the potential to do that and much more. New PG T.J. Ford eliminated the selection of Augustin, but this is a new direction for the Pacers, but they should be fine.
  12. Sacramento Kings PG D.J. Augustin - A solid, smart point guard who will replace Bibby and take them into a new direction towards rebuilding. Another place with a couple young pieces now its time to start putting them together.
  13. Portland Trail Blazers SF Brandon Rush - A good defender who is going to bring a scoring spark to a very yound and multi-talented team.
  14. Golden State Warriors C Kosta Koufos - They'll probaly be looking to trade this pick, but the Warriors will take Koufos anyways. This gives them a nice core of young athletic bigs (Wright, Biedrins and Koufos)and unfortunetly the odd man out is Harrington.
  15. Phoenix Suns SF Donte Greene - A very good shooter which Phoenix is going to need going forward into the future.
  16. Philadelphia 76ers PF Darrell Arthur - All this team needs is a low post scorer, well they got one now. Arthur has a great face up game and a good back to the basket game.
  17.   C Robin Lopez - The Pacers are still trying to replace O'Neal at 17. They get a solid defender who could give you ten boards every night.
  18. Washington Wizards C Roy Hibbert - A perfect fit for Hibbert close to home and the right system for him to play in with a slow offense and every year it seems like they are missing one piece a center.
  19. Cleveland Cavaliers PF Marreese Speights - Speights won't be able to help Lebron right now, but down the line he could help take the load off him a little.
  20. Charlotte Bobcats C JaVale McGee - A very raw prospect which the Bobcats can afford to work with and help Emeka return to his natural posistion power forward.
  21. New Jersey Nets SF Nicolas Batum - This gives the Nets a well rounded team with a solid wing defender maybe its time they start doing things with all this talent.
  22. Orlando Magic C DeAndre Jordan - If Jordan pans out this could be an amazing steal for them at 22. Two 7 footers down low would be hard stop down the line.
  23. Utah Jazz PF Ryan Anderson - Helps bring more depth in the front court and might help replace Boozer if he leaves for free agency next summer.
  24. Seattle SuperSonics PF Jason Thompson - A high reward player if works out, but will need a lot of work could help build the Sonics front court.
  25. Houston Rockets PF Serge Ibaka - Needs to be kept overseas for a while and worked with, but could help the team down the line with the always injured Yao.
  26. San Antonio Spurs PF Alexis Ajinca - Another foriegner for the Spurs it works for them though may help the blow when Duncan retires.
  27. Portland Trail Blazers PG Mario Chalmers - The Blazers are shocked that this guy is still around and they'll take him he could be a solid backup or a starter soon.
  28. Memphis Grizzlies SG Chris Douglas-Roberts - A flat out great scorer who will need to get stronger, but these Grizzlies have time to spare.
  29. Detroit Pistons SF Bill Walker - Adds depth behind Tayshaun the one area where they truly don't have much depth.
  30. Boston Celtics PF J.J. Hickson - The champions are kind of on the older side of things in P.J. Brown with Perkins, Powe, Hickson, and Davis will all help for another run at a title.
