Fresno State won! Awwwwwesome game, which makes two fabulous baseball games for me in the past two days (last night's O's game went down to the wire and ended with three bases loaded strikeouts).
I'm so glad Detweiler made the last out; he had so many great moments just during this game and it totally fit. Even though I thought the next-to-last batter should've struck out, I was glad he didn't because that really would've sucked for him; it's never good to make the last out but at least UGA didn't lose the championship on a called strike three.
Hats off to that freshman shortstop who completely redeemed his errors with a sweet double play to help get the first two outs of the ninth (if you saw his teammates' reactions, you'd know they weren't really expecting that). Anyway, he's adorable and I'm so happy for him.
Not so happy about the painful human interest aspect they always milk, about how tough a loss it was for Georgia, complete with up close and far too personal shots of tearful Georgia players. I don't like exploiting other peoples' tough luck and heartbreak, plus I'm not a huge fan of guys crying. But I liked the series theme song ESPN used.

I don't like seeing despondent fans either, unless they are direct rivals of my team. I'd rather see fans and players celebrating, even if it is the team that just beat mine.
Congrats, Fresno St. played very solidly.
