As Mets fans know, this hasn't exactly been the ideal season.

This year was supposed to be different. This year Reyes and Wright would be too deadly. Johan was the savior we need to get us over the hump. Delgado will rebound; he had an off year a lot of things happened in his personal life. Luis Castillo is suppose to be the missing piece, a true second baseman with a couple gold gloves, a great number two hitter, and a person with threat to steel or bunt any time he wants. Duanar Sanchez is back and so is the bullpen... is anybody else catching my drift this has been a year of the shoulda-coulda instead of the did it-got-it-done type of year.

So going into the subway series, I just have this weird feeling something will change.

Ever since Jerry Manuel has taken over the Mets play with some sort of fire (seriously did you see how pissed off Carlos Beltran was when his manager got thrown out, if you didn't it was great). So this begins of a tale; the tale of the new Mets.

Things are starting to change Mets fans, and it won't be much longer, just listen to my reasoning. Mr. Manuel is changing things. When he speaks he delivers a demand and a commands the room to listen. He's motivational and random. He's as likely to quote Herb Brooks as he is Dane Cook.

He actually knows how to control the bullpen, which was often noted as Randolph's weakness. Although I believe the way the Mets handled the firing was bad, I do believe it was the right move and Jerry Manuel has just as good of an idea of how to handle the team overall. He knows when players need a break too (see: giving David Wright his first day off all year and then the next day he hits two home runs).

He's a strong believer of utilizing speed, which the Mets have almost to much of. There is another factor too. The team is finally starting to get healthier. They desperately need Ryan Church back and it won't be much longer now before they get their five hitter back.

I expect the Mets to start catching on fire right about now. The all-to-cocky Phillies haven't been talking much lately because they haven't won. With them sliding it's time to make our move Mets!

You may not agree with me, but the Mets are about to make their run.
