UCSB may not be great at many sports. Heck, UCSB may not be great at any sports; but they're still most definately my team. When I was just a kid, growing up on the Coast of Santa Barbara, UCSB was the team that my friends and I would go see. Win or lose, we had a blast; and isn't that really whats it's about. Also, UCSB shows how smaller schools can succeed. The best sport Santa Barbara probably has in woman's b-ball. Really, thats all they got. But the important thing is they got it, thats all that matters. UCSB woman weren't going to NCAA tournament to win (and they didn't; they lost in the Sweet 16 to ND), but to be able to play the great and powerful team Notre Dame was. UCSB represents smaller schools to me, and it has just as much spirit as the larger ones. I am a lone UCSBer in a sea of many sports fanatics. GO GAUCHOS!!!
