Here's what the Miami Heat need to do in order to turn their team around in one just one offseason.

Pray to God that Bulls draft Derrick Rose.

If they do, draft Michael Beasley at No. 2.

Since Shawn Marion has chosen not to opt out of his contract, trade him to the Bulls in exchange for G Kirk Hinrich and F Andres Nocioni (if more players needed to be included in order to work the numbers, they should target Tyrus Thoms and Larry Hughes).

Sign unrestricted free agent C DeSagana Diop with the cap space left from the departures of Ricky Davis and Jason Williams.

If they can at least make these moves that would give them a perspective starting 5 of:

C-DeSagana Diop

F-Udonis Haslem

F-Michael Beasley

G-Dwayne Wade

G-Kirk Hinrich

They would also have the added luxury of bringing veterans Nocioni & Blount off the bench (as well as any others they might be able to obtain from Chicago).  If Wade stays healthy that's at least a playoff team.

Save your talk about the various struggles of the Chicago players.  That was just a nightmare year for ANYONE in a Bulls uniform.  I see a return to form for all of these players in a situation where all of the pressure's off and there's excitement about landing the No. 2 overall pick.

It works nicely for the Bulls as well as they could conceivably roll out a starting 5 consisting of:

C-Joakim Noah

F-Drew Gooden

F-Shawn Marion

G-Luol Deng

G-Derrick Rose

With, of course, Ben Gordon coming off the bench.  They could be very effective going small too by playing Marion, Deng & Gordon together with Rose getting them the ball in the open floor.

So it's a win-win all the way around.  Will it happen?  Who knows, but with the draft just moments away, had to call my shot while there was still time.

I TRADE HINRICH FOR MARION IN A HEARTBEAT

June 26, 2008  08:58 PM ET

yeah sounds great except for deng is a 3 he plays no guard at all, never has, so this trade would never happen unless chicago sent luol to miami in the deal as well. and the chances of them saying goodbye to loul and hinrich in the same deal are slim unless it would be for someone else in a heat jersey and im talkin about wade, Personally as a bulls fan i would like to see them move hughes and gordon. They need the most help at the 2 spot, the only big guard they have is Thabo Sefolosha. it should be interesting to see what they do cause they gotta do something with picking Rose, but whatever they do it wont be for Marion.

At least the Bulls drated Rose

There is no WAY in HELL that I would want Hinrich with the heat, hes over paid and over rated. Hes not a good point guard, if he was the bulls would not have needed to draft Rose, they would have gone with beasley because they desperately need low post scoring. Bulls can keep him.

I think he's better than what he's been able to show in Chicago. He's a scrapper & Riley likes those kind of guys. Plus, he wouldn't have to create for Miami like he was asked to in Chicago. You've got DWade for that & now Beasley. All he has to do is spot up for 3's. Anyway, he's an upgrade from Williams for sure. And if you get more depth in the package, why not?

Personally, as a Heat fan, I'd rather see Haslem go to the Bulls for Heinrich instead.

We can play Beasley at the Power spot and use Marion there too.

Plus, I'd rather have Marion's cap room next year when we can make a bigger splash to get that extra star that Miami needs and preferably at Center with Boozer.

Who knows tho.
