Hello Fannation.

Hopefully you've all seen the recently-released Fannation Rankings compiled by NMI.  If not, they're located here:

http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/206456

As a group, NMI wants to make FN as much fun and as fair as possible for everybody.  But many users may not know much about who we are. That's why we're introducing Meet the NMI Members.  These interviews will introduce you to some great people who are very good at what they do on FN.

Here's Volume I:  http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/207577

Here's Volume II:  http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/207596

Here's Volume III:  http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/209442

In this volume we will be finding out more about one of the original members of NMI, Goodell

What made you want to join NMI?

Cause everyone else is an idiot....Not really, but I know that if a NMI member takes my TD it will be a good one

What do you like best about FN?

Gets me through the day at work and I get to see whats goin on in the sporting world. I get to talk to other smart people about sports instead of the office band wagon guy....You know who you are....

What do you like least about FN?

Ever since Josh and Krobe disappeard the site has went to s**t

What drew you to join FanNation?

I was reading a blog on the preseaon rankings for the 07 NFL season and it had a button that said, "Disagree? Throwdown" and I clicked it.

What do you (plan to) do for a living?

I work in web design and marketing for small to medium size businesses. All I do is get traffic to websites and do SEO and crap. Pretty boring considering I went to college for Political Science.

What are your goals in life?

To be debt free, and have a happy and healthy family

If you could go to one sporting event before you die, what would that be and why?

The Superbowl...Im the commish.

When did you first become a sports fan and what drew you in?

I became a sports fan in the late 80's when I started playing Pop Warner football as a kid. Then I started watching when the Bills were great and the NFL was full of Billievers....

What was/is your favorite subject in school and why?

History...I couldnt tell you why. I think cause Im a stat guy and I like to look up interesting facts

Who is your greatest sports idol?

I dont know if I have an Idol persay....I dont have a single favorite player in any sport. I am a Bills fan, but my favorite NON BUFFALO atheletes are: Pavel Bure, Walt Williams, Mitch Richmond, Patrick Roy, Tim Hardaway, Ron Yary, Bruce Matthews, Dennis Scott, Reggie Jackson. Even though some of these guys were average, they were the guys I remember as a kid and I got some good memories attached to thier names.

Who is your greatest non-sports idol?

My Mom....She was a single mother with 5 kids who worked full time AND went back to college to get her degree while I was in Middle school. The hardest working person Ive ever seen....

What was the first live sporting event you attended?

NY Yankee's vs Anehiem Angels in Yankee stadium. I was about 11 or 12 years old and my brother attended Nyack college in NY. He met a girl and got marrid in Newark NJ. When we went to Newark for the wedding, my brother took us to Yankee stadium. The Yanks won, Paul Oniel had 2 HR's......It was awesome.

What is your fondest sports memory?

The Comeback.....Buffalo vs Houston AFC Wildcard game. The game didnt even sell out in Buffalo so if you were not at the game you had to listen to the game on the Radio. People left the game early, then started comming back in droves.  Security was trying to keep people from coming back but then people who didnt even have tickets were jumping the fence. The game didnt sell out by there was a sell out crowd on hand come overtime

What do you do in your free time away from FanNation?

I coach a flag football team at the boys and girls club in Spokane. When my son is old enough Im gonna start coaching his football team. I only gotta wait another year or two before he is old enough. I like to spend time with my wife and kids. I like to play poker and Madden

What are your favorite teams and why?

Bills...Cause I was born in Buffalo. Yanks....First MLB game I got to see in person....For College football I like Georgia.

What are your favorite aspects of/ acitivites on FN?

TD'in....

What have you've learned since joining FN?

People have man crushes on Brett Favre

What would you like people to know about NMI?

It's not as evil as Frank thinks. Its got the smartest users on FN.

What has FN taught you?

How to get a point across without yelling...lol

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

I would want more patience so I wouldnt bring work home with me.... I work with some really, really stupid people. Ya know the computer nerds who think that talking in Binary Code is cool....And then I work with a client base that is of the blue colar kind. So the employees I work with get to me pretty quick, then my clients are complete idiots too....

What is your biggest regret?

When I was a Kid in the 90's I was collecting the 1990 Pro Set football cards. I had a paper route and I would buy 1 box of cards per week. I bought about 10 boxes in all to try to get the complete set, and there was 1 Emmitt Smith rookie card per box. Yes, I had 10 Emmitt Smith rookie cards as a kid and I traded them away for somthing stupid probably.

If you could have done one thing differently in your time on FanNation, what would it be?

Not so many Bills TD's. That way I wouldnt have 300+ Losses

Favorite movie, band, food?

Movie: Boondock Saints...

Band: Pink Floyd....

Food: Any kind of southern cookin

What advice would you give to a new FN user?

Be smart. The last thing you want to do is offend the people who are casting the votes

So there's the Commish himself, Goodell.  Hope you enjoyed learning about him.  Look forward to more Meet the NMI Members blogs in the coming weeks.

June 28, 2008  12:56 PM ET

Very nice interview. Held the readers interest throughout and didn't once ask 'what's your favorite color' or 'if you could be a tree........' Good presentation and excellent use of visuals.

Hello, Goodell, nice to meet you.

June 29, 2008  12:01 AM ET

Wow, I learned a lot about you Goodell. I can't wait until I get to be interviewed.

June 29, 2008  02:34 PM ET

June 29, 2008  05:57 PM ET

Goodell you're not as boring as you seem!

June 30, 2008  07:42 AM ET

I can't decide if all the Buffalo references were meant to be jokes or not...otherwise, good interview.

June 30, 2008  07:47 AM ET

It was really hard not to work Scott Norwood into this somehow.....guess I was a little wide right on that one.

June 30, 2008  08:22 AM ET

June 30, 2008  10:58 AM ET

Since we are honoring Goodell in this blog, I would like to say in defense of Norwood that it takes a team to win..and it was a 47 yarder on grass. ..I better leave now while I'm ahead..Viva Goodell!!
