Chances are, even after today, you're not going to remember the name Roger Bernadina. Today, however, he gets his chance to show Nats fans (not to mention the front office) what he's worth.

I just wish it were under better circumstances.

You may have seen it by now, but for the uninitiated Lastings Milledge is on the DL after hurting himself last night against the Orioles running down a ball. He'd caught his right foot under the padding in left-center field and strained his groin. We didn't know how severe it was until late in the game.

And that's the happy news from last night. The game sucked, to be honest. You win 2 games, then fall back into the same damned morass yet again.

Anyway, back to Roger Bernadina. I got the chance to see him @ Harrisburg when I went up there in April. He contributed to the win that night. So he's off to Washington for a spell, starting today. I just hope the front office doesn't get ideas about offering him up as trade bait any time soon. I mean, as bad as the Nats need starting pitching now, you don't want to mortgage the farm (as it were) to get it.

At any rate, the rubber game with the O's is @ 1:30 this afternoon.

And wouldn't you know it, it's up to Ronnie Belliard to be the hero today w/ a 2-run walk-off jack. Not to mention my boy Roger didn't do bad today, either.
Now, to make the Marlins' life hell starting tomorrow...
