I was very disappointed upon hearing that Tide LB Jimmy Johns was arrested for selling cocaine. He was going to be a big part of the Tide team this season. He had made the move from RB to LB and was starting on the depth chart. He was a high school QB and then came to Alabama and switched over to RB. He showed signs of greatness a few times at RB, but kept getting in the doghouse and lost his job and was 4th string on the depth chart. What did he do? He went and bulked up and came out for LB. He was tearing it up at LB, and was going to be a huge part of this Tide team.
Then all that changed last week when he was busted for selling cocaine and was immediately kicked off the team by Tide Coach Nick Saban. I 100% agreed with the move by Saban. As much as i like Jimmy Johns as a player, this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated at the University of Alabama. Johns completely threw away his life with this, he could have been a special player for the Tide and gone on to make a lot of money playing professional football. Now all that has changed.
You might ask me what is next for Alabama? Well at the LB position we have some talent there. We have Rolando McClain who had a great Freshman season for Bama, and will be the leader of the crew. Next they have Freshman Jerrell Harris who can come in and make a big impact. Then to the question marks. LB Zeke Knight is out now having dizziness spells. I have heard that he has a pretty good chance of playing this season though. It will be huge if they can get him back. Then the other question mark is LB Prince Hall who is still indefinitly suspended by Nick Saban. He has had two very good seasons for the Tide, and if he can clean up his act and show Nick Saban he is through getting in trouble, then he could be back before the season starts. If that happens then Alabama will still have a very good LB crew without Jimmy Johns. Thats all for now Roll Tide Roll
