A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a blog after the Braves lost 4-5 vs the Rangers suggesting that the Braves sit slumping outfielder Jeff Francoeur (http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/206579). After the Braves lost yesterday 1-4 against the Phillies, Atlanta sent Francoeur down to AA Mississippi.
Francoeur was booed at home Thursday night when he went 0-for-4, and his average has slumped to .234. Francoeur's tenure with Mississippi is suppose to end following the All-Star Break. Matt Diaz, who also began the season as a starting outfielder, will join Francoeur at Mississippi. He is recovering from a knee injury and is on a rehab assignment.
I believe that this move can be nothing but good for Atlanta, who has quite frankly been horrible of late. The Braves need something to change in order to win, and this could be it.
