Then again what should we have expected. The Jets get no repect from anyone. Period. Why is this though? Think about it, what is the reason people seem to hate on the Jets so much? Analysts laugh at the fact the Jets always lose and when they try to make off-season acquisitions to improve their squad they are dismissed as busts.
Why is this? You tell me. Please somebody or anybody. Don't believe me? I'll prove it to you right here, but you have to keep reading.
In Lindy's NFL preview the jets are picked to finish the division in last place, behind a team that we beat twice including a 41-13 whopping. it also goes on to say how the Fish are going to match their season win total from last year in the first week of the season by beating the Jets. Does anybody even remeber the last time the Dolphins actually beat the Jets? Now I'm young and doesn't have a great memory so maybe somebody can refresh mine. But we should have expected this pick, Jet fans, because analysts world wide and opposing teams fans give the Jets NO RESPECT. "Well why do you care about what other people say though anyway it's only their opinion." You can say what you want to me, but the thing is, I STILL DO CARE! And anybody who calls themself a Jets fan should too. What people say about us is downright disgraceful.
Need more examples? Coming right up for ya then.
For the past couple decades the jets have been one of the more competitive teams in the NFL (or so I think), and the record can't argue. In the last 10 years the jets have a record of 82-78 (winning record=winning franchise) even though teams like the Carolina Panthers have a record of 77-83 record with two playoff apperances to the Jets five, they seem to get a free pass.
The jets seem to be a punchline of the NFL that I just don't seem to get. They don't run up scores (see Patriots) or have any loudmouth self promoters like TO and Chad Johnson. They don't have any cheating HGH users like Rodney Harrison or Shawn Merriman and they don't have a team that gets in trouble with the law (see Bengals). If you ask me the Jets are a bunch of hard working boys who fight to the end even when facing the long year of a losing season like this one. Out of the jets twelve loses only three of those were by more then ten points. Two of them were by exactly ten points. people say respect is earned, fair enough, but isn't that the same with disrespect too?
The Jets are always labled as the "laughing stock of the league" even when they do good. There 10-6 2006 season is often dismissed because the Jets got "lucky" or "had an easy schedule". Maybe some year we might actually be better then the other teams in the NFL?
Did anybody hear the guys from the NFL Live crew when they examined the AFC East? We were called "bottom feaders and the laughing stock of the league". I hope they realize that the Dolphins were in our division too and they won a grand total of one game. Why are they dismissed so easily? Because everybody dismisses an "underdog"and they were a young team. Please, give me a break.
This year will be different and in the first three weeks you will find out all you need to know abut the Jets. The D and O-Lines are revampped along with a new core of linebackers along with potential pro-bowler Darrele Revis and the man who should have been in the Pro Bowl at least twice now Kerry Rhodes. With a new O-Line comes a newer Thomas Jones who will be determined to bounce back after a year like he had last year and it doesn't mateer who they put back at quarterback becuase unlike last year they will actually have time to throw the ball.
Boy, I better stop now while I'm hot. But would somebody pleae explain to me why it seems like the Jets get NO RESPECT.

Personally, I think it's the fall. Being a Raider fan and experiencing a multi-year fall, I understand your frustration. But it will change. Just give it time. If your off season picks pan out, it will change.

Nice blog, and personally I feel they will finish 3rd possibly second in the AFC East. So called analysts are taking the fish at 3 because of Parcells, and theres a 50/50 chance the rookie QB will pay off so its kind of a safe assumption and a tribute to Parcells. Bill Callahan is the new offensive line coach, and with the addition of Alan Faneca and Damien Woody, the o-line should be able to put some points on the board. The beauty of the NFL is anything can happen on any given Sunday. Good luck to your Jets..and I'm a Patriot fan..;)

Sorry I will never forgive the J_E_T_S or Eric Mangina for playing the crybabys and blowing the whistle on the Patrioys for taping defensive signals. MAngina himself used to operate that camera himself whe with the Patriots as a young assistant. Can you say 'hypocrite'? Every team did it yet Mangina, in an act of gutless revenge (for what, we dont know yet) turned in the Ptriots and it started an avalanche of criticism and hatred that was totally undeserved.
Nope, I cant forgive them ever for it and you should be ashamed of your so called coach for breaking the coach's code and ratting out Belechick, the very man who gave him his start in the league and took him under his wing and made MAngina what he is. The ungrateful P.O.S. The jets can come in last place for the next 50 seasona and it wouldnt be enough for me.

Hey Luvdatdurdywatta, So Mangini was supposed to allow Belicheck to cheat right in front of his eyes. He knew Mangini was a part of it in the past and could rat him out, yet he had so little respect for Mangini that he pulled this stunt while facing the Jets. What was he supposed to do? Allow the great Bellichicken to take advantage of his new team? He lost a draft pick and got fined so don't tell me it wasn't a big deal. Mangini didn't rat him out the first season, but Bellicheck in Mangini's second year didn't care enough to not do it against the Jets again, and he had to make a move. Grow up and deal with it, your coach is a louse and a miserable human being who has cheated year after year and got hit for it.
