He's a clay courter who just won Wimbledon with monster groundstrokes, grinding his opponent into submission, and is just 22 years old. Roger is 27 and has one of the most beautiful, finesse games I have ever seen--the only weapons are his serve and forehand--true, he can do it all, but his volleys don't match up with Nadal--because Nadal is so fast and passes so well plus Nadal keeps the ball so deep, Roger can't get in. His game is now suited to win on the hardcourts because grass is the kryptonite to any clay courter, with big backswings and monster loops, how do you get ready fast enough. You can stand 20 feet behind the baseline and loop your opponent into submission--Nadal 1.0, or just play monster defense and pound your forehand--Nadal 2.0, or now you stand closer to the baseline and sometimes inside--hit flatter when necessary, chase down everything, and stretch the match out to 4 hours and 30 minutes or so on GRASS--get into your opponents head and wear him out mentally as well as physically--Nadal NOW. So how does he lose at the US Open? He doesn't...
