This year is the cycle of leap year, summer olympics and presidential election. I'm already looking to the next cycle, 2 years from now, the world cup, and the mother of all NBA free agencies. That summer there is going to be round the clock speculation and drama the entire offseason. It's going to be like a draft of the existing NBA talent roster. There are tons of teams that are going to be freeing up cap space to sign a superstar player. Money is going to be flying around all over the place, as are visions of potential championship rosters. Money talks, but so does the dream of shiny gold trophies and diamond studded rings. Loyalties will be questioned and tested. The big winners will win because of management savvy and sharp strategy. A lot of big money players could be in new homes. Who's it gonna be? LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Manu Ginobli, Ray Allen, Dirk Nowitzki, Rip Hamilton, Tyson Chandler, Michael Redd, any and all of them could go anywhere they wanted. Who can offer the best package of money, championship opportunity, and desirable city and organization environment? The biggest markets will court all of the big time players, and the news is going to be constantly breaking, and changing, and swirling until at last the season begins and the NBA has a brand new face. Some fans will walk out of the summer of '10 with a new vision and dream, others left to wonder what might have been or regret the loss of their franchise player. I say this with authority: owners and general managers in big markets who do not take advantage of this situation do not deserve to have their jobs, as others would do so much more with the asset of an NBA team in a big sports city, in terms of both winning and earning money. Old fogies who just want to count their huge mountains of cash and not care about the game need to go do something else and leave the NBA to people who want to be there. Yeah Reinsdorf, you know I'm talkin' to you, you S.O.B.

Half of these players on the FA list will re-sign with their teams.

I'm expecting LeBron to go to the would-be Brooklyn Nets.

Turning his back on his hometown to go with Jay-Hova :(
