Just when things were starting to look like the Los Angeles Clippers were going to finally rise to the expectations of the ravenous Los Angeles fan, both of their good players from last year just... vanished.
One of them stayed in the state, so he could periodically visit to ball on his former team, the other moving across the nation, thanking the government for fullfilling the dream of a Manifest Destiny so that he could move as far away from his former team as he could.
The first player I afore mentioned first is Corey Maggette, the solid swingman that was there in the Staples Center to be, at least this year, Baron Davis' partner in crime in the backcourt. Then he left. Out of nowhere. I, personally, didn't here any rumors of him going to Warriors, which is the team that he has reached a verbal agreement with. But, I guess it makes sense. They lost their star point guard (Baron Davis) to the Clippers, so why not ruin their dreams and take their star backcourt player(Corey Maggette)?
The other player that left Los Angeles is Elton Brand. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, The Liar, as I now call him. I think everyone knows why. If you don't, I'll tell you: when Elton Brand opted out of his contract with the Clippers, less than 10 days ago, he announced that his intentions were to stay in Los Angeles and play for the Clippers in 08-09'. Then, about four days later, the Clippers signed Baron Davis. The day after that happened, the Warriors showed interest in him, and he must have thought that he could make some bigger money with another team than the Clippers, because about six days later, he has reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers for 82 million dollars over 5 years.
Now, all the Clippers have is Baron Davis and Chris Kaman who may not even be the real deal. Good luck making the play-offs with that.
Thanks for reading!

I think that Elton Brand just wanted money, and to be in contention for the NBA Championship.

You guys still have Al Thornton, Cuttino Mobley, Tim Thomas, and let's not forget Eric Gordon.
Baron Davis is going to teach Eric Gordon the art of playing like a flashy old school baller. Or maybe he won't. Baron seems to be self-conceited.
Good luck LA Clippers! I'm hoping one day the Clippers will knockout the Lakers! I haven't seen it done in along time, but I'm still waiting!
Nice blog man.

You do remember that they have more cap space now, and they are focusing on Emeka Okafor and Josh Smith. And if that doesn't work, they can sign someone like Nenad Krstic to fill up the need at PF. They will be better in the future in my opinion without Elton Brand, and their is no possible way they can be successful now. Good blog.

The Warriors actually offered him more money 90 Million. But the Sixers are better than the Warriors in a weaker conference.
