This year's draft had just like almost every an important 1-2 selection. While, much like last year, Beasley and Durant were considered the most talented players in their respective draft classes they all got passed up on for a player like Oden and Rose, who were dubbed true dynasty leaders.

So far, Durant has proven that he most probably was the most talented player in last year's draft, Oden, on the other hand has yet to show the reson he was chosen first, since he was injured all of last year. Now he has seen the incredible statistical season that Durant had,the bar has been set and it is pretty high. Then again, you can't fight fire with fire, Oden doesn't and, in my opinion, can't beat Durant's impressing stats, he must fight him with another weapon, and that one has been all set up for him, WIN. Oden has been surronded by some of the best young players in the NBA and giving them a year to prepare the red carpet for him might be the best thing that happened to Oden. If Oden averages something like 12 ppg and 7-8 rpg and gets his team to at least the playoffs in the wild west, he won't be better as a player but as a team player. Durant averaged of course more points but his team was one of the worst in the NBA. But it doesn't simply end there, Oden has make Portland a true dynasty or a dynasty-like team in the next decade to be considered not a bust compared to Durant might not ever win a ring but will forever be putting up some of the best stats for at least a decade.

But Oden will not be alone feeling the pressure, the pressure might even be heavier on this year's #1 pick, Derrick Rose. Again, although Beasley was obviously a better statistical player, and clearly more talented, Chicago went with Rose since they dubbed as a pure playmaker, around which they could get back to victory. Beasley, like Durant, was dubbed as a talented player but not good enough to lead a team to victory. So, just like Oden, Rose has to in the next decade get the Bulls to the Finals once or twice so he could live up to the hype. Beasley on the other hand will have it easier than Durant, he'll playing alongside Dwayne Wade and Shawn Marion, if that works out, Beasley could end up being not the most talented but also the most succesful for now. That puts pressure on Rose to counter Beasley's achievements to prove why the Bulls selected him number 1.

The pressure will be on both of the latest number 1 draft picks, it won't be easy but there's a reason why they were selected number 1 and that's because people beleieved they could pull faets like this. Now it's their turn to prove it...But remember number 2 will always be around to be compared to...

'Nuff said.
