AHNN: Well first let me welcome you to the Losers Bracket- and with us again is the Porkster-
But First I want to address a Comment left by one of our Commenters on the Previous show:
“ And Wallace and I can't help it if throwdowning's finest hail from the Keystone State. We also have Ram, Duq, and Cheez (if he even counts).
G.O.A.T. is away till the 19th |”
--Uh No. Porkins and I both come from the GREAT State of NORTH CAROLINA- and considering that is 2 of the 4 that have moved on in the WINNERS bracket
Thank you very Much, Now how does my A^^ taste!!!
Bigalke: Also, don’t discount Oregon when it comes to debaters. Sure, I may have dropped into this bracket... but Hemo is still representing Oregon in the winners’ bracket, and just look at the plethora of tournament finals each of US has seen lately!!!
AHNN: Shut up, Zach --Now ON with the Brackets!
#1 DetroitFan* BS: Red Wings 3-1! v. #30 SS
AHNN: I love this matchup- Both of these men give me FITS personally- and my record vs SS is much lower than I care to admit- But D-Fan is still the person to beat in this tourney- but SS is MORE than willing to sent the top seed home.
Bigalke: Both are formidable... but while DetroitFan continues to come into these things with less rehearsal than his opponent, he continues even with one loss to be a prohibitive favorite. As long as he is in this tournament, he will always be a threat.
AHNN: Right you are Z-man, But I don’t think D-Fan likes this half of the bracket- and even though he CLAIMS the righteous beatdown he was given last week he was not up to snuff- I would be willing to bet he brings everybit of wood in Michigan!
Porkins: Only one loss away from elimination, DFan will be ratcheting up his whining levels. I suggest ear plugs now.
Squirrel is also hanging on by a very thin branch. It'll take some doing to avoid roadkill in this one…
Porkins: DFan. People will vote just to stop the tears.
#15 Denis24 is Kimbo v. #20 dyhard: Joe Crede!!!!
AHNN: this should be a fun matchup- Dyhard recently got his 1 year pin and even though we were able to stop the bleeding and Dyhard got his Pokemon band-Aid, I have not lost any respect for his TDing ability..
Bigalke: Dyhard will be looking to expand on his growth as a throwdowner by making the fourth round of the tournament. Even with that one year notch, there are still doubts about his ability. Dyhard is good, no doubt... but is he really better than Denis? I, for one, am not sure...
AHNN: Dennis on the other hand is ALWAYS a tough out- I hate to see either one go home. But Someone will –I have to think that Dyhard is going to pull an upset- But I am pulling for Dennis here- Just because I think Dennis/D-Fan would be good matchup Next Round.
Bigalke: I’m going to go with my gut here and predict dyhard... just to be stubborn and disagree with David...
Porkins: What exactly do sports fans from Indiana do in the summer? Given that Pacers have been off since April, I imagine it's a couple of months of laying curled up in the fetal position waiting for college football to resume…
With an inflated sense of confidence brought on by the Sabathia trade, dyhard won't even bother to argue. He'll simply state that he's a Brewers fan and laugh heartily.
Porkins: dyhard has been throwing up some good points lately. This could be an upset…
#7 Cain.Willis Amigo v. #21 rstowe - Dark Lord of NMI
AHNN: I don’t know whats going on with Cain here- He seems to be in and out so he may have withdrawn- and I hate to see that.
Bigalke: I’m sick of EVERYONE who has been dropping like flies in this tournament. If someone like a Ram or a djroxalot get to advance to the final because a slot opened up in the second round, it will look absurd that they effectively got byes because people cannot live up to their ends of the bargain.
AHNN: If he DOES show Stowe will be waiting- Given a reprieve with the re-seeding from having to face COACH- I think Stowe knows he can’t half step anymore- and will draw on his centuries of Experience to advance
Bigalke: I’ve just got to take Stowe here... if Cain/Willis DOES show, he will be looking quite a bit rusty...
Porkins: Zito shocked the sports world with 10 strikeout performance recently. Will Cain do the same? Or will he be more like your average Giants player- barely enough to keep us awake?
Either way, Cain had better show up soon. When you're up someone this old, you never know how much time you have left.
Porkins: River... Gotta go with rstowe. He has nothing to do but sit in his rocker and wait for the TD to start while Cain is nowhere to be found…
#9 Duquesne - 7 to Go! v. #22 Bigdleech
AHNN: this one is kind of Odd- Leech came in like Gangbusters- and is still going strong with a win over Lifer to a CLOSE loss to Porkins- Yet D-Cap seems to be doing JUST enough to win here lately. A Slackeffort sends the Lawyer home.
Bigalke: My victory over Duquesne is looking more and more like an anomaly. He is on fire recently... though Leech will prove to be a formidable opponent. I like his chances in this contest...
AHNN: As always Cap is the Kryptonite to my 3 doors Down- So I’m pulling for Leech here
Porkins: An all Pittsburgh battle. How exciting. Can we force a topic on them? How about "why do the Pirates suck so much?"
They'll both forfeit rather than admit it. The rest of the bracket thanks us, we collect their bribes, and everyone's happy!
Bigalke: I like Porkins’ idea... but I’ll go with Leech here in the upset...
Porkins: This is a very tough call. I'll go with Duq given the seeds…but everyone should "steel" themselves for a tight one.
Bigalke: Hi-oooooooooooo! On to the next one... and who do we have here?!
#11 DjRoxalot v. #24 Bigalke
AHNN: DJ is interesting to say the least- I found out that he is one of the only NINE people to Pull the Pork and live to tell about it- Fun Fact- DJ recently moved to Carolina and just breathing the AIR will make him more intelligent- so Big Z you better be careful here.
Bigalke: I’ve always had an immense amount of respect for djroxalot, and it is indeed nice to see him in this tournament. Lined up opposite me in the bracket? Not so nice... I’ve got confidence, but it is certainly tempered with a little anxiety... thank goodness my sports choices DIDN’T include basketball -- my opponent’s odds improve exponentially when I am forced to debate either college or pro basketball...
AHNN: Keep in mind these are both West Coasters- but DJ moving to the land of Basketball might make the Laker Lover a better TDer- But BigZ should still advance
Porkins: You in No'th Cah'lina now, DJ. We do things a little differently here in the South. You should try doing something different too…let's see…how about making a good argument?
And Bigalke…voting him into the FN HOF…Good one guys. Encouraging a speech from this guy? If brevity is the soul of wit, does that make him a vampire?
Bigalke: Only fools and curs vote against themselves... Bigalke
Porkins: Bigalke. DJ foolishly picks a topic about the Tour de France…
#12 [MOH] Coach v. #26 Ram
AHNN: I hated to see this matchup- My Elder Wildcat, (and I do mean ELDER) and one of my picks to possibly win the whole thing going head to head- this matchup is too early in the touney
Bigalke: Coach has really continued to impress me throughout this tournament. I’d not spent too much time reading his arguments before -- not through choice, mind you, they just never came up on the screen when I was on the site. This tournament has been a breath of fresh air in that I am now exposed to even more great throwdowners. That said, I’ve always got a healthy dose of fear when I face Ram -- any guy who can confuse ME with a spreadsheet has got something going for him!
AHNN: The Ram does NOT get to pick the topic- but the Ram is solid on many sports- the scary part here is if Coach ventures to the NFL- since Ram does not do Baseball- He might get sent home to the beach
Porkins: We're a little late on this one. The only "prediction" I can make here is that the next TD these guys will also feel like a long, dull lecture from your grandfather.
Some things never change.
AHNN: Ram-since his comeback he has waxed more tail than Andy Dlck at Giants Staduim
Bigalke: Mr. Excel will excel through again...
Porkins: Ram. (I am so AWESOME at seeing the future)
#13 Steveo16220 says:get a life v. #16 nickb23
AHNN: Steveo is not Happy about timing out vs Ghost Hunter- so his game might be a bit off- and Nick is STILL fighting his way through- Nick was even CALLING OUT D-Fan and was upset that the re-seed took the top dog out of his way.
Bigalke: Nick was calling out DetroitFan? Man, I wish I hadn’t missed that one... unfortunately, now we miss the comeuppance as well. Steveo should, despite his shattered mouse and cracked monitor from last round, still be a major thorn in Nick’s side. Steveo just doesn’t get the respect he deserves from too many corners of this site, and I think he’ll sneak up yet again...
AHNN: Gotta love nick here though- his confidence is at a HIGH right now- personally I’m not calling D-Fan out for ANY reason in a tourney.
Bigalke: Agree to disagree, then... what does the third wheel think?
Porkins: Steveo missed round 2 and ended up here by default. Will the shock keep him from putting together a good argument? Or will he do as his White Sox do and somehow exceed his talent level, get lucky, and stick around…
Nick is feeling saucy after breaking the 100-win mark. He celebrated with Nate Newton, but things went bad once the cops showed up. Man it is tough to crotch 300 pounds of weed…
AHNN: Nick the Slick
Bigalke: Steveo gets my pick in the higher-seed “shocker” (if you listen to David...)
Porkins: Nick will be there waiting. He's in a holding cell with 7 Cowboys alums. What else does he have to do? And 90% of success is just showing up…or so they say.
#3 The Bandit v. #31 Dudeman
AHNN: the Final pick of this round is the Bandit and the DUDE- and Dudeman advanced over the Commish due to the Timeout- but Dude also is ready to go- and is TDing like a madman getting ready
Bigalke: If dudeman is ready despite the timeout, then why wouldn’t Steveo. I’ve got to go with my gut rather than my head here... I think that dudeman is going to pull off THE upset of this round... almost like when AnonymousDan trounced me in the first round of the SoccerNation tourney... wait, is it too late to go change my vote to read AGAINST me? I’ve been slumping lately... but dudeman hasn’t.
AHNN: Well lets face it- no one expects Dudeman to be here by now- but he is and he is not scared- he is playing with house money so to speak- and that makes him dangerous.
Porkins: After a tight one with Hemo, the Bandit is looking forward to round III. Beating up little kids is his favorite activity. A word of warning though- you won't get any lunch money out of this one.
Dude will do his best to stay in this one, but if it drags on past his bedtime he could be in trouble. Mom!! Why does 8pm come so early?!
Bigalke: dudeman in yet another shocker...
Porkins: That record is still sparkling, despite the narrow loss in Round 2. Gotta go with Bandit, but Dude will keep it close.
Bigalke: Well, folks, there you go... next time we’ll be coming at you in one big show, as eight of these contestants listed here will be going home after this round to make analysis a little easier. Take care for now, and keep on enjoying this Elite Throwdown Tournament!
