The word now is that Favre wants to go to Minnesota?  A reason could be that the Vikings offensive coordinater is Darrell Bevell and he used to be Green Bay's quarterbacks coach from 2003-2005.  That is the only reason that I could think of for Brett Favre wanting to go to Minnesota.

Tell me what you think about this....

As a Vikings fan, I honestly do NOT want Brett Favre playing here...I don't care what he's done in the past, but if he comes here, we're going to be proclaimed the automatic NFC Favorite. We DO NOT WANT THAT ATTENTION...especially the fact that if we go 12-4 and win the Super Bowl, it will be "because of Favre" not because of Adrian Peterson. Not because of the offensive line. Not because of the DEFENSE. I honestly would rather see the team go 9-7 and make the playoffs with Tarvaris Jackson, John David Booty, and Gus Frerotte as the quarterbacks.

Where's "the word" coming from?

July 12, 2008  01:47 PM ET

Thats because Minnesota never gets attention...

July 12, 2008  01:48 PM ET

"The word" is from SportsCenter a little bit and just places around the internet and on TV.

If we don't get attention, why were we picked to win the Super Bowl by Dr. Z? We don't get AS MUCH because we don't have a guy like Favre or a guy like Randy Moss...

Minnesota has to be the worst talent-laden team I've seen, in accordance to last year. Excellent RB, FB, arguably the best OL in the NFL, 2 Pro Bowl DTs, excellent secondary, good LBs...why did you guys finish 8-8???

July 12, 2008  02:31 PM ET

Squirrel you just don't know football if you would rather have Tavaris Jackson be the Vikings QB as opposed to Favre, Well enjoy your 9-7 season and if you do make the playoffs, enjoy your first round exit. With Favre the Vkings are easily one of the top 3 teams in the NFC

Believe me...I know football...and I'd STILL rather throw Tarvaris out there and see what he can do than get the sporadic great games and game-losing INTs from Favre...It's his THIRD YEAR...LET HIM START...

July 12, 2008  02:43 PM ET

Plus, the first comment was supposed to be that I'd rather have T-Jack out there with little to no drama than have John Madden's man-crush overshadow Adrian Peterson and the defense.

July 12, 2008  05:41 PM ET

Tarvaris Jackson over Brett Favre????

Haha thats funny. I agree with NYGiants. You must not know football if you want Tarvaris Jackson over a no-doubt HOFer Brett Favre. And who gives a **** about Adrian Peterson. He is the best thing that happened to the Vik-queens since.................. ever

July 12, 2008  05:54 PM ET

I think I'd rather have my quarterback of the future learning the ins and outs of the game by PLAYING rather than sitting behind Favre for four more years...

July 12, 2008  07:55 PM ET

So by your philosophy, the Bears should just stick with Grossman and not even try for Favre because Favres on the way out?

July 12, 2008  08:32 PM ET

How is that my philosophy in any way?

My philosophy is that I don't want T-Jack sitting behind Favre while he contemplates retirement for the next four years...and that I don't want Favre getting all the attention

July 12, 2008  08:33 PM ET

Actually...if you look at it, you're really gonna get the same stuff from 2006 Rex and Favre...25 and 20, 3000 yards, Good games, bad games...Only thing Favre's got on him is pressure cooker situations....

July 13, 2008  12:31 PM ET

Now you are saying Rex is as good as Favre?? Come on, get serious. And I am pretty sure Jackson would not be sitting the bench for four years. It would be 3 at the most.

July 13, 2008  12:40 PM ET

You're twisting my words...I never said that Grossman was as good as Favre, I said his stats from 2006 were as good as Favre's...No way in hell is Favre worse than Rex..

And exactly...I wouldn't want him on the bench for the next 3 years...

July 13, 2008  12:41 PM ET

Or maybe I'M twisting my words...everything I've said so far doesn't sound like it's supposed to...

July 16, 2008  06:28 PM ET

how much sense does it make to say who gives a **** bout AP he's the best thing that ever happened to the vikings? Brett Farve is a stud and im a vikings fan too. i hate him any vikings fan does but why wouldn't you want him as your quarterback. theres two pros that i truly hate brett farve and kobe bryant but there is a big difference you can respect farve not kobe so y not have a good, talented, respectable QB and T-Jack is getting better but he'll get his chance soon enough i personaly don't think will play more then two years

July 17, 2008  11:31 AM ET

Look at Aaron Rodgers. He has been sitting the bench for 3 years behind Favre. Im pretty sure he isn't whining about sitting the bench because a LEGEND is starting.

July 18, 2008  11:10 PM ET

I am a huge Minnesota fan and i want what is best for the team and i think that farve is a very good thing for the fact he is a great and will be awsome for the new up coming booty i would love to see farve in purple and the chance of a super bowl
