The New Jersey Nets should trade Vince Carter to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Wally Szczerbiak and a first round pick.
Why the Cavaliers should do this:
They get Vince Carter, who is still a good scorer. With Vince, LeBron will get more open looks and have the best year of his career and the Cavs will have their best record in LeBron's career.
Since they would likely have a very good season with Carter, the pick they would give up would be near the end of the round, so not very valuable.
Why the Nets should do it:
Everyone knows that the Nets are trying to clear cap space to make a run at LeBron in 2010. Vince's contract doesn't expire until 2012, while Wally's contract expires in 2009. This would give the Nets plenty of cap space to get LeBron or one of the other big names who will possibly be available in 2010 (Joe Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki, Tracy McGrady, Dwyane Wade, Michael Redd, Steve Nash, Manu Ginobli, and Chris Bosh to name a few).
They also get a first round pick which they can use to find a replacement for Szczerbiak or get some depth.
It's a win-win

are you kidding??? the nets would have to give VC with a 1st rd pick....an underachieving, inconsistent player well past his prime would make it difficult for the cavs to get a real player in 2010 when theyll need it to show lebron they mean business

thats a bad trade for the nets considering the fact they want to get lebron in 2010. why would they make the cavs tht much better if they intend to take lebron away from cleveland
