This week is what conference football is all about. The Big 10 and Pac 10 could very well be decided this week. So could the Big 12 North. After these 3, things drop off a bit. A good weekend to get some outside work done during the day, and then catch the action as the night games get started. Especially any true college football fan is going to be glued to the TV for week 7. Please comment if you disagree with me (I love to argue, i mean debate) or to point out oversights, or just to comment on the season. I'll probably tell you what I think regardless of what you say.
MUST SEE
Ohio State at Wisconsin 7:00 Sat Oct. 4th ABC or ESPN
Wisconsin has the best shot of anyone at unseating Ohio State in the Big 10. I'll bet neither team has more than one loss at this point. Good chance College Gameday is on hand.
Oregon at USC 7:00 Sat Oct. 4th ABC or ESPN
If college gameday isn't at Wisconsin, it will be in SoCal for this game. Oregon is probably the #1 contender to end USC's run of domination and its a safe bet to guess neither team will have more than one loss. I know Oregon lost Dixon, but they were solid in the lines, and had a good D also.
SHOULD SEE
Missouri at Nebraska TBA TBA
If you believe as I do that Nebraska is going to bounce back a bit, and you also believe that Missouri is going to take a step back, then you'll believe me when I predict that this should be an awesome game with the winner left in the drivers seat for the Big 12 championship game.
Illinois at Michigan 2:30 Sat. Oct. 4th ESPN
If either of these teams are going to have anything to say about the Big 10, they need to win this game. I wouldn't of bothered including this, except its the best of the afternoon games that have already been scheduled. (this far in advance, many of the actual games haven't been scheduled so that the networks can figure out what will draw the best ratings)
DON'T BOTHER
Florida State at Miami TBA TBA
If this game was played any time between 4 and 15 years ago, it would be the game of the season. I remember when FSU, Miami, and Florida all played each other when they all were in different conferences, and in any given year, all three of those games might have championship implications. How times have changed. Both school are still recruiting well in the very fertile state of Florida, so don't expect them to be mediocre for more than a couple years. But for now, even with a wide open ACC, I don't see either team contending for the BCS so don't bother with this game.
