As everyone here on Fannation should know, thanks to ESPN's 24/7 coverage of what Brett Favre is about to do, the future Hall of Famer appears to be headed elsewhere as a result of the announcement that the Packers will only allow him to return as a backup. Favre has made it clear he wants to play again, and he is also made it clear that he will do it with another team if he has to. Favre seems to have been linked to every team(except for the Packers) in the NFL. My advice to Brett is to simply hang it up and retire as a Packer.

Let me say that I am not, nor will I ever be, a Brett Favre fan. I don't know why I've never liked him, but his actions at his retirement news conference assured me that they were true feelings. Everyone knew that it wasn't the end for Brett, yet he sat up there and cried like a baby. I know it was an emotional retirement that was thought to be "a true retirement", but he was walking away, it wasn't like he suffered an injury and was forced to retire. Although I don't like Favre, I would find it truely horrible if he followed in the footsteps of Joe Namath, Emmit Smith, and Johnny Unitas and did end his career with the team that made him a star. If the Packers are out of the question, I know which team Favre should play for: the Atlanta Falcons, where he started his career.

Another problem that Favre has created by possibly playing for another team is the Madden 09 cover, where Favre is shown in his Packers uniform. If Favre indeed does join another team, EA Sports should either a) send out special-edition covers of the game featuring Favre in the gear of his new team or b) make a new cover featuring a different player, like maybe Adrian Peterson.

I actually wrote this blog earlier, but I got the idea to make this group, so I just re-posted it.
