Over the weekend, the Dodgers lost their closer (Saito) to injury... hopefully, the All-Star Break will be enough time for Saito to rehab and comeback from his, "tightness"... but what if he's not ready?  Who should the Dodgers turn to as their temporary closer?

How about Chan Ho Park?  (Now I know what many of you are thinking... he's a has-been, gives up too many homeruns, dude's still pitching???)... but, comparing the stats of CHP to the rest of the bullpen, he does make sense.  He's sporting a 2.63 ERA (as of this posting)... and that might not be as impressive as Kuo's 1.69 or Beimel's 1.61... but keep in mind, CHP has pitched 65 innings, compared to Kuo's 53.1 and Beimel's 28.

Of your choices, Park (as opposed to Kuo, Wade, Beimel, or Broxton) has started 5 games, 4 of which were pretty good - throwing some decent heat at 96 mph, a solid curve, and a reliable change-up.

Of the realistic options, Park and Broxton are the only one's with save opportunities this season - Broxton is 0-for-5, while Chan Ho is a 100% at 1-for-1.  Chan Ho has also raked up 52 strike outs so far...

Don't get me wrong, Chan Ho's not likely to replace Saito as the Dodger's closer - and CHP has been a reliable spot-starter for the boys in blue dealing with injuries - but with Saito sidelined, instead of closing by committee - choosing a replacement closer might keep the bullpen effective (especially when the Dodgers are only a game behind Arizona in the slumping NL West).  So... how about Chan Ho Park?
