The stage is set for the Hurricanes to stink up college football again this season and make a mockery of great southern football tradition. As a nole fan I can't say that I mind, but I do miss the glory days and the #1 vs #2 games from the past. But while FSU will make a step forward this season Miami will be standing still. Here are a few of my reasons why the hurricanes will suck it up this season:
1.Overall inexperirence: This team just has to many unproven players on it. QB, on the D.

And now they have a freshmen QB....Yikes!!
3. Defense, these guys gave up 51 to the Sooners, 33 to North Carolina, 48 to Virginia and 44 to VT. The Virgina game was a shut out.
BOTTOMLINE:
The Hurricanes will improve in some areas but it will not translate into wins because the youth (especially at QB) will counter act those improvements.

1. QB, position is unproven. However, you do have a a player that's in his second year in the system. More than likely he would have taken the starting position had he not been injured last year. Bottomine is too much emphasis is based on a young QB. Do you remember a very athletic QB name Kenny Kelly for UM? Or better yet the True Freshman who took his position when he got hurt, never to start again. Ken Dorsey was his name I think (never lost to FSU). And why we're talking about OU, their QB was a Fr. or 2nd year player last year. If you know football it's all about how much the QB learns the system not what classification he's in.
As for the Def goes over 10 freshmen started at one time or another last year. Kenny Phillips is gone, but Anthony Reddick (FS)returns. He too started as a True Freshman w/ Phillips (ACL'07). Lavon Ponder (SS) started and returns. Bruce Johnson (CB) started 8 games last year. DeMarcus Van **** (CB) started 4 games. Randy Phillips started the season at (CB) ,finished at (SS) Chavez Grant (CB/Nickel) even started a couple. LB positon Tavares Gooden was the only lost. The others return to include Glenn Cook (the General) and Romeo Davis who missed last season, given a 5th year. Also landing 5 out of 7 top OLB in the nation in recruiting class.
DL has plenty of depth only losing 2 players, but signing the #1 DT in the nation who enrolled early. The kicker here is even in a down year UM is better than the University of Kansas. Their Def Coor. is now at Um w/ his aggressive attacking style defense, which has alot more speed than KANSAS. He will be like a kid in the candy store.
Oh by the way. I think the CANES lost 3 games by 6 or less points. They could have easily gone 8-4, with a mediocre QB. And FSU lost 3 games of 7 or less points.
Finally, before you go talking about defenses we scored 37 on FSPUKE, FLA scored 45, and VT scored 40. It doesn't sound like you have too much to brag about. Especially with only 2 OL w/ game experience. I hope the QB's worked on their speed in the off season. They will need it as they run for their life!!!!!!!
