Under no circumstances should you plan anything for Sat. Oct. 11th that doesn't involve the TV.  This might be the biggest weekend of the season, with odds on favorites being established in the BIG 12, BIG 10, PAC 10, and SEC.

MUST SEE

Oklahoma vs. Texas    11:00 AM Sat Oct 11th    ABC

As always, this is one of the 10 biggest games of the season and its being played in Dallas.  I think Texas may be in for a down year, but the winner of this game has usually won the Big 12 since the time that Nebraska fell off.  Texas Tech and Missouri will try and change that this year.

LSU at Florida    7:00 Sat Oct 11th    CBS

Both these teams will be ranked in the top 10, even if they have a loss.  Both these teams will be fighting for a rematch in the SEC champioship game.  A matchup of the last two national champions.  I don't know why I bother hyping these games up because anyone who is reading this blog is a college football fan and knows the stakes.

SHOULD WATCH

Clemsen at Wake Forest    Thurs Oct 9th    ESPN

Remember 2 years ago when there was a string of awesome Thursday night Big East games?  I wish the Thursday slate was better this year, but here is the 1st one worth watching.  It wouldn't be here if it was on a Sat afternoon, but this won't be an easy test for Clemsen.

Tennessee at Georgia    2:30 Sat Oct 11th    CBS

If Tenn is going to have a say in the SEC, they need to win at least one of the their games with Florida and Georgia.  In another week, this might be in the MUST SEE catagory.

Penn State at Wiscosin    7:00 Sat Oct. 11th    ABC/ESPN

Seems like these two are always competing for 3rd in the Big 10.  With Michigan having another down year, these teams are hoping for more this year.

Nebraska at Texas Tech    TBA    TBA

If Texas Tech wants a shot at the Big 12 title game, this is a must win against a team that will have a much better defense then last year.  If their D isn't much improved, the game might be over by half.

DON'T BOTHER

Arizona State at USC    TBA    TBA

I have more faith in Oregon and Cal this year, but Arizona State has got a lot of attention as a team that could end the USC domination.  Its not going to happen in the Colesium.  I will have this game on if Arizona State splits their previous games against GA and Cal.

Wow. That is a huge week. I will definitely be glued to the television, probably watching my Vols against the Dogs.

Yeah, after looking over the entire schedule, this is the biggest Sat. of the year including the rivalry week. Its too bad Tenn is going to have a great team this year with Florida and Georgia having top 5 teams.
