This is the 3rd edition of this weekly blog, though I did miss last week due to being to busy. Each week I take a look at a few games that could spark an upset.
Colorado St. vs. Colorado
This in-state rivalry always goes down to the wire. Colorado escaped the Rams by a FG last year. It's turned into one of the most underrated rivalries in the nation. The point differencial in all the games since 2002 is 23 points. A difference of 23 points in 5 games is humongously close. That means only one of these teams are winning by an average of about 4.6 points. Colorado escaped with a win last year. Though the Rams seek revenge this year, even with losing their top passer, rusher, receiver, and a few defensive starters the Rams will give the Buffs a close game.
Wisconsin vs. Fresno St.
The Badgers look to be Big 10 contenders again, but they cannot overlook the Bulldogs of Fresno St. FSU returns their quaterback Tom Brandstater, their top two rushers, two of their top receivers and their top Tight End. Their offense is high powered and their defense shut down many opponents last year. Fresno has one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the nation but if they're the team everyone thinks they're going to be, then the Badgers need to be extremely cautious when going to Bulldog Land.
Central Michigan vs. Purdue
These two teams have a couple things in common. Their cold-weather teams, so each should be ready for the fall chill in Indiana. They are also led by phenomenal quaterbacks. Purdue's Curtis Painter has been leading this team for a couple years and has thrown for over 3,500 yards in each year. The Chippewah's Dan LeFevour looks to have another great game against the Boilermakers after their 51-48 thriller in last years Motor City Bowl. I think the favorite here is Purdue but I'm taking the Chippewahs here. Dan Lefevour should take control of this Boilermaker defense and pass all over its weaknesses.

Central Michigan has a legit shot of beating Purdue, I think. Mike, the 3rd is on the way.

Don't forget Colorado's Darrell Scott. The nations #1 back who rushed for over 3,000 yards in a season in highschool. He will be freshman of the year. I say the Buffs break the trend and crush CSU this year

I would say I agree with everything else. I know from history it seems the safe pick but...we shall see.

Agree with central michigan and purdue, it was a close game in the bowl game last season, and this year Dan LeFevour's gonna be ven better

Agree with all 3, most likely seems to be Fresno over Wisky, in my season preview, I predicted that to happen

I'm sure LeFevour will be better this year, but so will Painter. If the 2 quarterbacks cancel each other out, the rest of Purdue's roster should be able to handle CMU's.
