Now that the baseball break is here, I'll post the lastest stats for ROY.

Hiroki Kuroda (DODGERS)   W/L 5-6, ERA: 3.43 HRs: 10, HIT's: 97, BB: 29, K's: 62, IP:, 105

Blake DeWitt (DODGERS) Average: .263, RBI's: 34, HR's: 5, OBP: .330, SB: 8, K's 50

I know there are other Rookies out there, but I narrowed it down to those I thought had a good chance to win.  Here are mine choices:

AL: Evan Longoria         NL: Geovany Soto

Let me hear who you think should win ROY.

Jurrgens has to be the NL rookie of the year for me, he is the reason atlanta has been able to stay within reach of the playoffs. soto has greatly benefited from the spotlight and other talent of the cubs. however what is no longer mentioned is that his average has dropped a lot aka below .300, meanwhile jurrgens has pitched extremely well and could flirt with a sub 3 era which is impressive for any pitcher

I agree with nick Jurrgens deserves it more hes been killing the mets this year

I have no idea.

For me, Soto, and it's not even close. He has been keeping pace with the league leaders on offense at his position, and his defense is pretty good as well. Our other catcher, Henry Blanco, has taken Geo under his wing and helped him out in many ways. He has become a good friend and mentor, and Geo has really grown under Blanco's tutelage.

Also, that "benefiting from the spotlight" thing is nothing more than a cop out. Barrett ultimately failed here. Kendall ultimately failed here. Bowen was traded to the A's with a minor league pitcher for Kendall. Soto is a huge reason why we are where we are right now, and he deserves to be recognized for that.

When a Met fan picks an Atlanta rookie for ROY, i'd say that's all the proof you need.
