Am I the only one who was irritated by Rick Reilly's ridiculous racial rant while Justin Morneau took his first few swings in the Derby last night?
Honestly, how many of you even noticed that all eight participants in the Derby were caucasian before he started his monologue? And during his rant he made reference to the eight Derby participants as the Kiwanis Club, effectively stereotyping Kwianis as an all-white organization.
Reilly's timing was just as ridiculous as his words. He decided to let his rant fly duing Morneau's time at the plate. Instead of the usual positive build-up for the participant, Reilly told the world why he thinks Morneau shouldn't even be a participant.
In the end, it was sweet justice for Morneau and sweet silence for Reilly.
